Flights :
NEW FOR 2009: EASYJET FROM GATWICK TO BODRUM AND PEGASUS AIRLINES FROM STANSTED TO BODRUM. There are many other airlines flying to Bodrum from regional UK airport such as Onur Air (booked through Goldtrail Travel or h4u), Turkish Airlines, Thomas Cook, MyTravel, Thomson, Airflights, Cheap flights, Charter flights, A1travel. Bodrum airport is just under 60 mins drive from the villa. Alternatively Izmir and Dalaman are between 3-4 hours drive away. Although we provide an accommodation only booking service, we are happy to recommend websites/ travel companies that we have found to be competitive/ reliable and have a list of flight companies which we can email to you. Off season flights have recently started for winter between the months of Oct-Apr flying directly into Bodrum airport. A grocery welcome pack can be provided for your arrival for only a nominal amount. Please enquire when booking if you would like to add this on. This is particularly useful if arriving on a night flight.
Car hire, transfers and information pack:
We work closely with a local car hire company on the Bodrum Peninsula who have always been extremely reliable and offer some of the best rental rates in the area. Please ask us for details. If you don't want to hire a car to collect from the airport, we can arrange a transfer at a price of approx £35 each way for up to a family of 4 (large vehicles available for transfers for 5 or more - please ask for a quote). Please email with flight times and party size for further details. To get the most out of your holiday, we do recommend car hire but if you decide not to hire a car, the local dolmus service runs past the villa and taxis are plentiful. Once your final balance payment is made you will receive a comprehensive travel pack with information including directions from the airport, collection of villa keys etc and it will hopefully answer any other questions you may have to ensure that your holiday gets off to a great start. Plus an extensive guest manual is also provided at the villa
Things to do and places to visit:
There is so much to do in this area! History lovers should take a visit to St Peter’s Castle, Bodrum to view the underwater archaeology museum or arrange a trip to Ephesus, the largest & best preserved ancient city in Turkey. A visit to Pammukale means that you can combine the hot thermal springs of this white, calcium terraced mountain with the adjacent ancient site of Hierpolis. Another day out is a visit the mud baths & stunning beaches at Dalyan combined with seeing the Lycian rock tombs & the remains of Caunos, dating back to 400 century B.C. Daily boat trips to Kos, Greece means that you can visit 2 countries during 1 holiday. Closer to home, make time to experience the different towns and villages on the Peninsula. Turgetreis is the 2nd largest town & has a huge market each Saturday. Chill-out on the beach in the laid back bays of Bitez or Ortakent or visit Golturkbuku – known as the St Tropez of the Bodrum Peninsula. For family fun visit the water park or bowling in Bodrum.
