We've booked many family Villas over the years (including 3 in Kalkan), so I'd like to think I'm writing this review with a good idea of what you really want to know!
The description of Villa Tashla is 100% accurate, written honestly and perhaps even understates how idyllic the property really is. If you've visited Kalkan before, you'll know all the best villa's are positioned on an incline, therefore expect a downhill walk to the village (10 mins and you've got a choice of routes). Trust me, the view from the Villa more than makes up for this, pour yourself a gin & tonic or cold beer, go up to the roof terrace and take in the enormity of the scenery, it's stunning.
The outdoor areas are very well kept and Irfan visits most days to keep the pool water in tip top condition (great guy, not at all intrusive). Being the last villa at the end of a lane, with an olive grove to one side, it is fair to say the lovely garden area isn't directly overlooked. Also, unlike other villa's we passed, it's always possible to position your sun beds somewhere to enjoy sunshine all day long (believe me, this aspect was well & truly tested by my wife!). Equally, the children were able to find shady areas and there are big parasols provided too.
Inside, the villa is well equipped. We've got 3 children and the furnishings strike that balance between being attractive with a quality feel, BUT you don't feel like you're tiptoeing around precious heirlooms just waiting for one of the kids to break something! One of the nicest things you'll notice is how the villa has developed it's own little library of books. Previous visitors (ourselves included) have chosen to leave some of their reading material and we were pleasantly surprised at how up to date the titles were (including a whole series of teenage girl novels.....priceless for peace & quiet!!). The same can be said for other bits including batteries, kitchenware, mozzy repellent etc etc.
Upstairs, beds are good, and the top floor (4 single beds) is a must for older children/teens as it gives them their own little sanctuary complete with roof terrace.
Hot water....absolutely lashings of the stuff, anytime of day and great pressure from the showers. Bath is on the small side in master bedroom but it's a bath all the same!
Overall, the villa is clean, attractive & well positioned. You could pay a whole lot more for another property and not tick anywhere near as many boxes as Tashla does. Highly recommended A+++++
