Superb accommodation, great organisation

We stayed in Villa Aphrodite in May 2007. It was our first visit to Turkey. We had our first taste of the excellent organisation at Antalya airport, where we were picked up and driven to Kas, admittedly a longish trip of three hours. It was late when we arrived, but we were met at the villa, shown in, provided with some basic food to tide us over and given the keys to the hire car parked outside. This level of attentive but discreet service by the very friendly caretaker continued throughout our 1 week stay.
The villa itself is superb, quite newly built in a newish development on the outskirts of Kas, overlooking the sea, with almost ridiculously romantic sunset views. The standard of furnishing and Mediterranean-style comfort is very high and very tasteful: top-notch kitchen equipment, air conditioning, comfortable beds, cool and spacious for up to six people. I cannot speak too highly of the villa itself. Outside, there is an attractive garden with an "infinity pool" which screams "martinis-in-the-sunset" at you. One point to note: no shallow end in the pool, so not very suitable for small kids. Ours were 11 and 9 and swimmers, so alright, but people with little ones might want to consider this - you need to keep en eye on them outside.
Kas is a very attractive small town, which clearly, though not wholly, relies heavily on the (higher-end) tourist trade. However, it avoids touristy excess, possibly helped by its distance from the airports, and certainly in May was welcoming and uncrowded. There is a good selection of restaurants in town and plenty of shops to browse around. You need transport to get into the town from the villa, but it was a short trip by car or bus (bikes would be feasible too). I would recommend hiring a car, not only to get to town but also because that will give you easy access to some spectacular beaches along the coast, as well as archeological sites and the like. I would heartily recommend taking up the owner's everything-arranged deal with a local car rental place, which moreover can also provide boat trips and outings in the vicinity.
All in all, this is a seriously good holiday venue, a great location, first-class accommodation and outstanding service.
Owner's Response: Thanks Stephen for such a wonderfully detailed review! Our new pampering and adventurous packages with Olympica Tourism and Travel, now include transfers, hire of an automatic ford focus, a full day luxury gulet cruise (which I think your family loved) and a choice of one activity (hamam treatment, sea kayaking, canoeing, horse riding etc) We offer these to all 2 week bookings from June through to September.
We do hope to welcome you back to Villa Aphrodite some time in the future.
