Great villa, beautiful area, friendly people

2 week holiday in early July 2009 with my husband and son, both advanced scuba divers. This was the ideal property for us - spacious, comfortable and private with all the luxuries we enjoy, private pool and air conditioning. The owner could not be more helpful; she provided advice on local shops, where to park in Fethiye, ATMs,etc. The staff at Oasis Village were very friendly and helpful. The on-site restaurant was surprisingly good. A car helps you get the most from the area as the location is very rural but a taxi was always available and there is a dolmus from the site and pick-ups for boat trips or for diving can also be arranged. There were several restaurants within a 10 minute drive - we liked the one on the road to the Majesty Tuana hotel - and many more at Calis Beach (15 minute drive) and Fethiye (20 mins). Fethiye also has very good shopping, including locally made jewellery. The popular Olu Deniz and Koya Village were about 45 minutes away by car. The best beaches were back towards Dalaman - about 10-15 minutes by car - any turning on the left after the bridge between Yaniklar and Gocek. The coastline is spectacular here with wooded cliffs into the turquoise sea dotted with islands.
Overall, a fabulous relaxing holiday in gorgeous surroundings - both the natural scenery and the villa.
