Set over 3 floors totalling 602m², Olive Tree is fully furnished to a high standard with linen supplied and every modern convenience for the discerning self-catering holiday maker whether you be a family, friends or just a couple – Olive Tree Villa Kalkan is for you! Set amongst olive groves, our contemporary style, air conditioned, privately owned house, is in an elevated position offering the most wonderful sea views over Kalkan and Kalamar bays. The whole house has insect screens to doors and windows to make our property more comfortable for our guests. It is only a short walk down hill to the old village of Kalkan where you will find a discerning mix of Europeans and Istanbul Turks attracted by Kalkan.

With its maze of cobbled streets, white washed houses & flowered covered alleyways, Kalkan has the charm of a tranquil fishing village where the simple houses have been lovingly restored, under strict conservation laws, to create the sophisticated atmosphere of an up-market resort. The town is full of enchanting shops which stay open until midnight, a lively harbour, cafes & roof-top restaurants to excite the discerning diner, jazz bars & a very smart marina where beautiful “gulets”, the traditional wood-built fishing boats, moor after day trips or stunning full week cruises.   • A 25% deposit is required to secure a reservation with the balance due 8 weeks prior to departure. We also ask for a Damage Deposit of £250 which will be held for the duration of your stay and returned in full within 2 weeks of your return home provided there has not been any major damage to the villa or its contents during your stay.

    Check into the villa is after 2pm and check out is before 11am. This is to facilitate cleaning.

  • Up the spiral staircase to the first floor there is a spacious Master bedroom with king size bed and a double bedroom each with en-suites and balconies to take in the wonderful views of Kalkan, Kalamar Bay and the sea. On the top floor are a further 2 single bedrooms with a shared shower room and WC. Each has their own private balconies. All bedrooms have mosquito nets and air conditioning.

Notes: The pool is approximately 16ft wide, 14ft long and 5½ft deep. There is no shallow end so small children need to be supervised at all times. We supply comfortable sun lounges and parasols on the terraces around the pool. At the front of the house there are the pool terraces and BBQ. The cabana is set in the small garden and has seating for 8. Subtle lighting or candles if you prefer, add to the ambiance for idyllic dining. There is off street parking for 2 cars. Because of the elevated position of our house and the spiral staircase it is not ideal for the elderly of infirm. A “Welcome Pack” is provided on arrival. We supply a daily maid service for light cleaning and twice a week a full villa clean and linen change is done. An English-speaking agent is available for help and advice. Transfers can be arranged along with car hire.

Beaches: In Kalkan village there is only a pebble man-made beach however there are plenty of “Beach Clubs” which are open to non-members. They offer sun beds, swimming, water-sports, restaurant & bar facilities. There are 2 sandy beaches in the immediate vicinity of Kalkan. Kaputas being the first is only 6 km drive away east and found at the bottom of a ravine down approx. 100 steps but with the most beautiful turquoise sea. There are no facilities at Kaputas so you must take your own parasols. Patara is the second, part of a National Park and a 19 km drive to the west. Voted one of the world’s best beaches by The Times its 22 kms of pure white sand stretches as far as the eye can see, making it ideal for a day away from the holiday crowds. There is a restaurant and toilets. The beach is home to a protected species of turtle. Patara is also an ancient site with numerous interesting ruins. Historically it is known as the birthplace of St. Nicholas (Father Christmas) and Apollo.

Local Attractions: Travelling further afield and all easily accessible from Kalkan within Turkey’s Lycian region, there are the ancient sites of Xanthos (Kinik) the Lycian capital, and the single most important city 18 kms.north of Patara. Letoon 6 kms. farther on with its important religious buildings, and Tlos, Lycia’s longest inhabited city and many others. Saklikent, a narrow gorge about 300m high and 18 km. long and is accessed by a suspended wooden catwalk. Once you have crossed through the ice-cold water of the Xanthos River you can begin the journey uphill into the gorge. After an epic excursion there is an abundance of restaurants serving freshly cooked trout from local hatcheries and local delicacies to choose from for lunch. Kas (Antiphellos) a town about 30 minutes drive from Kalkan.This modern town has been built on an ancient site so while strolling around don’t be surprised if you come across ancient ruins or sarcophaguses.
