Villa Florence nestles in the olive groves which overlook the unspoilt village of Kalkan on the Mediterranean. The house has been lovingly furnished using local crafts and materials with just enough personal effects to make you feel at home. It is situated in a beautifully landscaped, private garden, filled with a range of tropical & indigenous plants and boasts a large 40 sq m pool which is completely private and not overlooked. The house has three large bedrooms, four bathrooms, spacious open-plan sitting room with two sofa beds, kitchen/dining area, first floor balcony, veranda and roof terrace. It is air-conditioned throughout and is well equipped with all modern conveniences including satellite TV, DVD, Hi Fi, Playstation 1 and 2 (inc lots of games) and Broadband Internet. Just bring your laptop and you are immediately connected to your high speed internet. We also provide a stand alone water dispenser for that all important regular supply of cool, fresh drinking water.

Kalkan is a small peaceful village on the Med which hasn't been touched by mass tourism. Set against the majestic backdrop of the Taurus mountains, it occupies possibly the most beautiful position along Turkey's stunning Lycian coast. The area is renowned for it's natural wonders such as Patara Beach and Saklikent Gorge and it's wealth of historical sights such as Xanthos, Patara, Letoon and Tlos. Villa Florence is situated in a commanding, elevated position with lovely views over Kalkan Bay and is a short, 10 minute walk into the town. The nearest shop is 1 minute walk away. The villa is sited in a plot of 4 other similar villas, none of which overlook each other and separated by thick garden vegetation. The plot is backed by natural landscaping (mainly olive trees) and the nearest villa is approximately 1 kilometer away. We are very close to the main, though generally quiet main road into Kalkan and we are opposite the sleepy, new bus garage with clothes shop, cafe and barbers.

About Kalkan: The village of Kalkan descends to the sea and picturesque harbour in terraces of white-washed and wooden houses, many boasting ornately carved Ottoman timber balconies, draped in bougainvillaea. Very strict building rules ensure that the village remains small, in tact and unspoilt. The streets and alleyways are a veritable Aladdin's cave - think carpet bazaars, antique shops, ceramic stores, and arty jewellery shops where pieces are custom-made in silver, gold, turquoise and amber.

Sights: Cruises - a day at sea is a must. Take a trip on one of the many Gulet cruises from the harbour and visit stunning secluded coves. Beaches - Kalkan beach is next to the harbour. It's a pebble beach so the sea is unbelievably clear. Sandy Kaputas beach is 10 mins away while Patara Beach (30 mins away) is regularly voted one of the best beaches in the world. Ancient Ruins - Kalkan offers easy access to many great classical sites such as Xanthos, Patara, Letoon, Pinara and Tlos

Kalkan's Restaurants: Kalkan is famous throughout Turkey for its roof-top bars and restaurants which offer fabulous views of the harbour, the sea - and at night, the stars. For such a small place Kalkan has an astonishing range of restaurants. You can sit cross-legged on kilims and floor cushions and be served traditional Turkish fare, enjoy freshly-caught seafood at one of the smart harbour side establishments, or feast on the closest thing you'll get to home-cooking at one of the charmingly low-key, back street eateries

Golf: The nearest golf course at present is about 1 hour away in Fetiye although there are constant talks about building one near Kalkan.Please enquire for news!.

We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday at Villa Florence in Kalkan. The villa was everything we hoped for, and more. We were more than comfortable and I in particular enjoyed your 'wee oasis' of a garden. The villa was in a good location, with the supermarkets and banks 5 minutes down the hill. The walk up the hill after dinner helped work off our indulgences and we didn't find it too bad. Our young adult daughters enjoyed trying out the many excellent restaurants along with us. Our dining experiences just seemed to get better as the holiday went on. We also enjoyed a few BBQ's at the villa and found this to be inexpensive.

Our thanks also to Sedat and his team who looked after us very well and our holiday went without a hitch! We hope to return to Kalkan next year.

Just back from our holiday at this fantastic villa. We were very impressed with the standard of the villa which was both well equipped and very spacious. The villa was well maintained and the pool area was beautiful. Both the owner and the property managers in Kalkan were extremely helpful. We have been to Kalkan several times and it is still lovely, we just hope it doesnt change. For an excellent day out we would thoroughly recomment a day trip on the Pina X boat from the harbour. Would definitely stay at Villa FLorence again !!

Rented the villa for a week in July and can honestly say that it was one of the best properties we have stayed in. The villa is spacious and well equipped and just a short walk into town.
The pool and garden were lovely and not overlooked. Great for a peaceful, relaxing holiday.
There are some fantastic restuarants in Kalkan and the people are very friendly.
We would have no hesitation in recommending the villa to anyone.

July 2009 we returned to Kalkan after 4 years and were relieved to find it was still as charming and beautiful as ever. Villa Florence is located at the top of the main Kalkan road, which is very steep but helps to walk off those calories after some superb meals. If you can't manage it, Taxi's up the hill from the town were approx £3.00.

Villa Florence is just as described; clean, well equipped with a lovely pool and surrounding planting. Our only criticism would be the noise from the road but we quickly tuned out as we unwound.

We had a fabulous fortnight and we couldn't recommend the villa more. Enjoy!

A lovely villa with little extras which show that this is also used as a home. One of the best pools I have ever used and I have stayed in many villas throughout the Mediterranean. Kalkan is a town with which you will easily fall in love. All of the people were extremely friendly and the restaurants all offered a very high standard of food and service, plus the views from the many roof terraces were breathtaking. A villa and an area to cherish. One of the best holidays that our family have had. Many thanks for all assistance and information given to us at the time of booking up to the time of our arrival.
