In the courtyard surrounding the main house lies the Willows and Beeches Lodges' which are situated on the banks of the River Bechan. They have views of St Beauno's Church on one side and ornamental lakes on the other whilst set amidst the beautiful rolling Montgomery countryside. Both lodges have been lovingly renovated to provide luxurious accommodation with an individual character and charm. The abundance of oak beams and the beautifully constructed staircases are all made from renowned Montgomeryshire oak, grown here on our estate. The properties have well appointed kitchens, large sitting rooms and connecting dining rooms and are the ideal venue for family reunions, small conferences and celebrations of all kinds. Catering can be arranged if required.
Details for The Beeches Lodge in Wales
The Beeches self-catering lodge is a situated within the grounds of Bettws Hall in the quiet village of Bettws Cedewain near Newtown, Powys. There are eight spacious bedrooms in the lodge, together with a large dining room and adjacent sitting room. A large and fully fitted kitchen enables guests to prepare culinary delights or alternatively, when available, our chef can prepared them for you! The lodge, which was recently converted, has been very sympathetically renovated using selected Montgomeryshire Oak from our own estate. The oak beams, floors and a grand oak staircase together with the light decoration create light, airy and luxurious accommodation within an old medieval barn. All in all, it is the ideal venue for a family reunion, small conferences or celebration of any kind.

The Lodges are in the small village of Bettws Cedewain near Newtown amidst the un-spoilt Montgomery countryside. It is an area of great serenity with and a wealth of local history and plenty of things to do and see. The ancient market towns of Welshpool and Ludlow nearby have many shops, restaurants, a theatre, cinema and leisure centre. Powys Castle and Gardens and Montgomery Canal are only 9 miles away and the Snowdonia National Park and coast are all within an hours drive.

The cost shown is per lodge in Low season. Rates are available for Easter and Whit weeks as well as bank holiday long-weekends. Christmas and New Year weeks are also available at a cost of £2,500 per week per lodge.

| Notes: | There are ground floor rooms suitable for infirm and wheelchair users with assistance. Because of the lakes and river, young children must be supervised in the grounds at all times. A recently installed jacuzzi (shared with the adjoining property) is available and can be reserved during your stay. |
In The Lodges
The large and spacious sitting and dining room with its oak beams and warm decoration are the hub of the Lodges. There are fireplaces where fires blaze, lovely oak dining tables, lots of luxurious sofas and chairs together with antique dressers, Indian rugs and sporting paintings. They all combine to create a wonderfully airy but warm and woody ambiance making it a cosy and inviting place to be. The fully fitted kitchens in comes with all usual mod cons, including a gas oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and a high chair. There is also access to a washing machine should you require it. The well appointed kitchens are ready for any enthusiastic chef to take the helm during a summer self catering holiday. However, if the thought of slaving over the stove sounds like too much hard work, then our resident chef would be delighted to step in! Morning, noon and night the finest local ingredients are used, creating memorable meals for all occasions.

Enjoy socialising in fantastic surroundings? The peace and privacy of Bettws Hall makes it a great venue for an unforgettable party. Either in the Lodges or in a marquee, we can cater for all your requirements. Our chef can provide marvelous menus to suit your tastes from a buffet for 15 to a barbeque for 50. Relax, unwind and enjoy. Planning a family get together? A christening, anniversary or reunion can be made so special in the lodges. The privacy of your own space with eight elegant bedrooms all with en-suite facilities a wonderful dining room and sitting room together with the roaring wood burner makes for the perfect retreat.
Shooting Parties
For those wishing to shoot in the area, perhaps at Bettws, Kempton, Delbury, Brigands, or other local estates, then the lodges are easily reached, not far from Welshpool and the major road networks. Staying in the lodge is akin to going to a friend’s country house party. There is a cosy and welcoming sitting room where the wood burner roars and there are a plethora of luxurious sofas to relax in. While the fully stocked courtesy bar gives guests’ privacy and the opportunity to socialise with their friends late into the evening either before or perhaps after a days shooting. The lodge has eight beautifully appointed en-suite bedrooms, each with direct-dial telephones, televisions and internet access. Behind the scenes, our Head Chef and his team take great pride in using the best local and seasonal produce to create a mix of contemporary and classic Welsh cuisine.
