An-T-Gwen is conveniently situated in the centre of Llangollen, North Wales in Church Street. This beamed, three storey, terraced cottage with history dating back several centuries has been modernised to a good standard without losing its original character. On the ground floor is a small porch, leading into an open plan living area with an inglenook fireplace containing a wood burning stove, and a well equipped kitchen area. On the first floor there is a bathroom and a twin bedded bedroom with ensuite shower. The main bedroom on the top floor of the cottage features a king size four poster bed. A single Futon gives an additional child's bed. The cottage also features a four-poster bed and a wood burning stove in an inglenook fireplace.

As well as the outstanding beauty of the surrounding countryside there are many local attractions and activities available. Something for all interests and ages! Either in town or within easy reach there is horse riding, golf, canoeing, rafting, mountain bike riding, swimming, rock climbing and abseiling, fishing, clay pigeon shooting, paraglyding as well as good walking and climbing country and bird watching. The nearest International airports are at Manchester (68 miles) and Liverpool (46 miles). The nearest train station is at Ruabon (6 miles).

In easy reach of the historic town of Chester and forming a good base for touring Snowdonia. Local activities include canoeing, walking, horse riding, mountain biking and golf. Plenty to do!

After a few very stressful weeeks we were very much looking forward to a relaxing break and both the cottage and Llangollen did not disappoint on any level! The cottage has all you need for a "home from home"stay and the bed in the top room was gloriously comfortable!!
The town has everything from fantastic places to eat to great outlets for local artists.
Particular mention should be made of the friendliness of all the locals, the beauty of the surrounding countryside and the various sites it has to offer.
We really enjoyed the stunning "Plas Newydd" and all it's quirkiness (well worth a visit!) The wonderful anecdotes of Aubrey the boatman on the viaduct cruise (his wit alone was worth every penny of the fare!)
Recommended for superb food, atmosphere and service The Corn Mill was an excellent find and the belly pork with mustard sauce was to die for!!
The Simla was also enjoyed hugely for fab curries and unhurried atmosphere.
All in all a fantastic relaxing time and a holiday that will stay in our thoughts for quite a while.
We will be back!!!!

We a family of two adults a little girl and our other four pawed lady stayed in this little cottage in
August 2008. We were looking for something relaxing and full of adventure at the same time, Well Llangollen gave us everything we were looking for, The town itself isone of the most welcoming friendly romantic places we have ever visited. Thecottage was very tasteful and comfortable to stay in it also gave that old rustic feeling with all the mod cons. We loved to light the woodburning stove in the evenings as the weather was not that kind to us. The little cottage was conviently located to visit all the attractions That the town had to offer on foot . A week was not enough time to visit all that the beautifullocation had to offer and we will be back visiting in the near future
