Not available until 10th of March. Idyllically located house in its own grounds with fantastic views across the Dyfi (Dovey) estuary & Cardigan Bay. The house, built during the 19th century of slate, is cut into the hillside giving it wonderful panorama of the hills estuary & sea. The house is within Snowdonia National Park & the garden rises steeply, due to this there are some steep slopes around the house. We cannot take liability for accidents due to this wonderful setting. The house has 4 bedrooms, sleeps 8, 1 double bed, 2x2 single; 1x2 adult bunk beds. Oil central heating with hot water all day. Fully double glazed. Large traditional slate floor, fully fitted modern kitchen with wood burner (1 basket of logs supplied), modern range electric cooker, dish washer, washing machine, microwave, fridge/freezer. TV room with DVD recorder/free view & CD player/radio. 2nd portable TV, 1 sitting room with cosy open fire. 1 Traditional bathroom with roll top bath; 1 shower bathroom.

Set in its own grounds with fantastic views across the Dyfi (Dovey) estuary & Cardigan Bay. Though secluded - you drive steeply from the coast road (Machynlleth to Aberdovey) up a valley road with only three houses - 'Tan-y-Foel' is a 20 minute walk from the charming coastal town of Aberdovey with restaurants & pubs. Situated in the Snowdonia National Park, the back garden runs steeply up towards the hills just waiting to be walked. The organic livestock farm at the top of the valley may be visited by arrangement. Fishing on the Dyfi for sea trout and salmon, sea fishing from Aberdovey, windsurfing/sailing in the estuary, golf at the famous Aberdovey links course, walks including to the famous Cadair Idris.

A gorgeous old stone house in a beautiful, peaceful location surrounded by hills and sheep with lovely views of the valley and estuary. Still you are only 20 mins walk over the hills to the pictureque fishing village of Aberdovey.
The house is comfortable and well equipped and there is plenty of room for 2 or 3 families without feeling that you are on top of one another.
I would certainly consider returning to Tan-y-Foel - may be to see what it is like in the Winter !

A wonderful property

The cottage itself is in excellent condition and has everything you need to make your stay very comfortable. House was also spotlessly clean. Cottage is set about 400metres up a tarmac drive (quite steep) which makes this cottage a little remote but that adds to its character as the views are breathless from out of every window in the house or from any part of the garden.
Nearest village is Aberdovey which is quiet and very beautiful.

if you like activities away from walking and water sports you will need transport. But if you are looking for a quiet holiday away from the rat race I do not think there will be a better place to stay in the whole of the UK.

I will definitely go again and I do recommend this cottage to everyone
