The Pyrenean landscapes of Languedoc-Roussillon are ideal for anyone that enjoys the great outdoors. The whole region is a maze of walking, mountain biking and horse riding routes, which reach far into the mountains. Along your travels, you will enjoy a great range of historic monuments, seemingly forgotten by modern life, spectacular viewpoints and rich nature.
The Mediterranean is well within an hour's drive of Agel accommodation. The beaches are a huge attraction from May until October, with countless miles of sandy beaches to choose from. Even during the height of summer, local beaches do not suffer the crowding of the Cote d'Azur just along the coast, but the beaches are just as beautiful. Water sports are easily arranged too, with sailing, fishing and scuba diving trips leaving from ports along the coast.
Place to visit from Agel, France
Beziers is a beautiful medieval town that deserves at least an afternoon during any Agel holiday. There is always something going on in Beziers, from the theatre to the rugby stadium, and there is a huge amount to see. The famous Canal du Midi is a perfect place to walk off a few of the pounds gained in one of the town's excellent restaurants, the majority of which serve the best local fare. The Cathedral of St Nazaire and Roman amphitheatre cannot be missed.
The picturesque town of Narbonne should also not be missed. Filled with timeless cafes and fascinating museums, Narbonne is always a favourite afternoon out from an Agel villa. Canal boat rides along the Canal de Robine are a particular highlight.
Weather in Agel, France
Agel, located deep in the south of France, close to the border with Spain, is blessed with a wonderfully warm climate. During the summer, an Agel villa with a pool is priceless as daily peak temperatures reach well into the 30's (C) at times from May right through until September. The spring and autumn months are a fantastic time to visit if you are not a great fan of the heat, as conditions remain warm and mild.

Carcassonne is the nearest airport to Agel, just 50km away. There are regular flights to Carcassonne from across the UK, but if there are no convenient flights, there are another 4 airports within two hours of a self catering Agel villa to choose from.
