Ferry services take visitors from Ajaccio to Marseilles, Nice and Toulon on mainland France as well as Genoa in Italy.

Corsica has a long holiday season with hot sun early in the season, although the sea doesn’t warm up until early June. The sea remains warm enough for comfortable swimming through to mid October. The hottest time of the year in Corsica is July and August when the average high temperature is 29 to 30 degrees centigrade. July also sees an average of 12 hours of sunshine per day. The island is generally dry between May and September, with bursts of heavy rain generally in March and November.

Taxis are available outside the arrivals hall and there are several car rental firms operating here.
