Alcalali is an unspoilt natural village in the mountains of the Jalon Valley. Visitors happily mix with locals in this unspoilt corner of Spain. The area is well known for its wineries, many of which are within easy strolling distance of your self catering villa. The Rio Jalon and the surrounding mountains are ideal for walking and driving tours.
Within the village there are many excellent restaurants offering fine Spanish cuisine and local wines. The nearest beaches on the Costa Blanca are about 20km away and Benidorm is about 40km south of the village, with plenty to see and do in the area.

Wine tasting - Take a visit to a Bodega in Jalon which is just 5 minutes by car or a pleasant walk from your villa in Alcalali. The town produces 2.5 million litres of wine a year and is well known for its Muscatel. The local wines are surprisingly good, and very cheap. The town is full of tapas bars and wine cellars for more opportunities to try before you buy!
Honey Tasting - Popular with all the family, the honey farm in Callosa is a great place to visit. The area is known for its almond trees and tropical fruits such as kiwis and mangoes which all rely on the bees to pollinate them.
Places to visit in Alcalali, Spain
Aqualandia - Europe’s largest water park in Benidorm is right on the doorstep of your self catering villa in Alcalali. It is great day out for all the family and an excellent way to keep cool as your splash, swim, descend the black hole, ride the rapids, flumes and chutes and generally have a wild, wet day.
Guadalest - This tiny Moorish village is perched high on the volcanic mountain rocks. It is one of the prettiest towns in the Costa Blanca with its old tunnel giving access to the town centre. Tour the Castle and the Dungeons while you are here. The highlight is the freestanding white bell tower, Penon de la Alcala, which clings to the mountain face. The town has just 200 residents but there are plenty of craft and gift shops as well as the Toy Museum, the Micromodel Museum and the Contemporary Art Museum.
Algar Falls - High in the Altea Mountains, just outside Benidorm are these beautiful natural waterfalls which cascade down the mountainside. The pools and springs make an excellent area for a cool dip and the vegetation which flourishes there includes many natural spices and medicinal herbs. There are also toilets, barbecues and showers. Close by is the Algar Cactus Company and the Railway Museum.
Jalon - As well as the wineries in and around this buzzing town, Jalon has a large antiques and flea Market each Saturday. There are also plenty of craft shops and restaurants to make this a pleasant day out.
