Mountain walking and Skiing - This area of southeast Spain is popular with hill walkers who can explore the mountains of the many national parks further inland from Alhambra. The caves at Maro are an interesting place to explore and there are several walking trails from there into the mountains. In the winter the Sierra Nevada mountains even offer skiing and snowboarding.

The caves make an ideal amphitheatre and ballets and concerts are often held inside the caves.
Al Hambra, Granada - This ancient fortified residence with its massive walls and pretty gardens is just an hour’s drive from your accommodation in Alhambra, through some incredible mountain scenery. Built by the Moors over 1000 years ago, this ancient palace stands high on a cliff face above the river gorge and has magnificent views. The architecture of nearby Granada is also worth exploring to make the most of this day trip.
Aqua Velis WaterPark - The largest water park in the region is just a 15 minute drive from your self catering villa in Alhambra. With 20 water-based rides, slides, pools and a lazy river ride, this is a very popular day out with families and a great way to cool off in the summer.
