Golf is, of course, the major attraction to this particular section of the island. The inspiring 18 hole golf course which is at the centre of the Amarilla Golf and Country Club, provides a challenge for even the most accomplished golfers, yet manages somehow to allow less talented players to have a hugely enjoyable rounds too. You may recognise the resort and the privately owned villas which surround the course as Amarilla Golf course has been a P.G.A Tour course since 1989. If you need to blow away the cobwebs when you first arrive in your privately owned Amarilla Golf holiday rental villa, there is a 9 hole pitch and putt course and a pro shop. N.B. All those who wish to have a round must produce a handicap certificate and soft spikes.

If you would like to take a day off from the beautifully kept fairways, there is a whole range of activities waiting for you outside your Amarilla golf holiday rental villa. There are two tennis clubs within a few minutes drive, and the coast offers a whole range of enthralling activities. A few minutes walk down the beach and you will discover the newly built marina, protecting yachts from Atlantic rollers. Here, sailing lessons can be booked or yachts chartered, and you can also arrange windsurfing, canoes and jet skis. Along the marina, there are also a number of scuba diving centres where you can take your scuba PADI courses or arrange a dive.

Walkers staying in Amarilla Golf villas will be perfectly at home too. The long coastal path makes for a delightful route, and the Mount Teide National Park (5 miles away) has some testing mountain routes to entertain the more adventurous. Mountain bikes can also be hired.

Places to holiday in Amarilla Golf, Tenerife

Golf del Sur is often mentioned in conjunction with Amarilla Golf and Country Club as they have begun to merge geographically. However, there is a slightly different atmosphere in either resort. Golf del Sur is a collection of four golf courses, linked by a small estate of privately owned villas, and not a huge number of faculties, especially for children.

Amarilla Golf is open and perfect for playing all year round. Last minute golf holidays, summer holidays and winter sun holidays are all exemplary, as even in winter, average temperatures remain above 21˚C, with daily peaks in the mid 20’s (˚C). In July and August, temperatures average around 31˚C.
