There are a maze of paths crossing the island, taking you both up onto the dramatic mountain ranges and down into the secret valleys, which hide some of the most beautifully secluded spots in Andros. There are also some excellent coastal paths to take, as well as well worn donkey trails.

There are many delightful villages on Andros, which, amazingly have managed to develop completely different atmospheres. Batsi is the largest tourist destination, and the island’s major beach resort, with magnificent beaches and a vast range of facilities. Chora, Andros’ capital, is a charming village, filled with history as well as having an excellent beach.
Weather in Andros, Greece
Andros has a fantastically mild climate. Temperatures remain between 25 and 35˚C during the day from the beginning of June until the end of August, with warm temperatures lasting long into the evening. The air is kept refreshingly cool during the summer by reliable breezes blowing on-shore, and even during the winter months, you are unlikely to experience temperatures dipping below the 10˚C mark. Sea temperatures stay between 15 and 25˚C for the majority of the year, easily warm enough to swim in right through until late November.

There is no airport in the island, but that does not mean that it is going to be hard to reach a self catering Andros property. The island is extremely well connected by sea to both Athens and the port of Rafina, as it operates as the first port of call for most ferries heading into the Cyclades.
