The Salt Carriers Festival or Saeumerfest celebrates over 600 years of life in the region, and the weekly market is a perfect place to visit to enjoy local delicacies and explore the many craft shops selling amazing pieces from the Bavarian Forest.

The climate in the Bavarian Forest is wonderfully mild. During the summer months, temperatures reach a maximum of around 32˚C in the middle of the day, easily cool enough for walking, riding, cycling and climbing in the Bavarian Forest. The winter months can be cold, but with less people and less foliage, wildlife spotting can be easier and just as exciting as it is during the summer months.
