Places to visit near Benigembla, Spain

Jalon is one of the main towns in the area just 10km east of your Benigembla villa. It is well known for its wine, producing over 2.5 million litres each year. Sample wine at the many local wineries and visit the huge antiques and flea market held each Saturday. Jalon also has plenty of cafés and craft shops in its charming town centre.

Guadalest is a tiny Moorish village is located high on the volcanic mountain rocks about 40km scenic drive from your Benigembla villa. It is one of the prettiest towns in the area with its old tunnel giving access to the town centre. Tour the Castle and the Dungeons while you are here. The highlight is the freestanding white bell tower, Penon de la Alcala, which clings to the mountain face. There are plenty of craft and gift shops as well as the Toy Museum, the Micromodel Museum and the Contemporary Art Museum.
