Benodet is not one of the jewels of Brittany for no reason. Partly the reason is the excellent location – on the coast and within close reach of the region's principal city, Quimper. The beach and harbour are popular areas during spring and summer, and are where you will find a wide range of activities and attractions to cater for the crowds, such as water sports and beachside cafes.
The other part of the reason for its popularity is the great range of attractions in Benodet. Unlike some of the smaller towns and villages in the area there are a great number of modern facilities in Benodet, including a casino, a cinema, a health spa and a wide range of cafés, bars and restaurants that serve up almost every type of cuisine imaginable – including some excellent local dishes.

Across the water is Sainte-Marine, a smaller and more peaceful alternative to bustling Benodet, which has a harbour and beach of its own, both of which are less crowded than those over the water.

The weather in Benodet is similar to the weather in the UK, but a couple of degrees warmer throughout the year. This means that winter is not quite as cold and can still be a good time for a holiday. The 25°C temperatures of summer are, however, still the most popular time for a visit to this part of France.

Benodet can be reached in a number of ways from the UK, including by ferry and by Eurostar, followed by car or public transport. In terms of flights, the best option is to fly to Paris Orly Airport (ORY) and then get a connecting flight to Quimper Airport (UIP), from where it is just 12km to Benodet.
