When taking a Berlin city break, there is a vast amount to see and do. Berlin is known for its incredible historical attractions, from the remnants of the Berlin Wall to the medieval buildings of Alexanderplatz, the Brandenburg Gate to the Reichstag. There are some excellent tours to do around the city, but the extensive bus, tram and train services make exploration of this huge city wonderfully straight forward. Another excellent way to see Berlin is by bicycle. Berlin’s historical and artistic treasures are wonderfully accessible. Berlin is always a hive of activity. The Berlin Film Festival (Berlinale) in February is the second largest in the world, whilst the Festage in April is a ten day extravaganza of concerts, operas and theatrical performances. Berlin’s weather never puts a dampener on proceedings. Summer days are long and warm, with daily temperatures often reaching into the low 30’s (˚C), particularly in July and August. Summer weather in Berlin can be unpredictable, but there are so many things to do in Berlin on a rainy day that you will always be entertained. Winters are fantastically frosty, which makes the Berlin Christmas markets a real treat.

Cheap flights to Berlin, Germany

Cheap flights to Berlin are in huge supply, with three separate airports located in within the city. Berlins’ Tegel (TXL) Airport is the main passenger airport, receiving direct flights from London, and is the best located for easy access to the apartments in Berlin City Centre. Cheap flights to Berlin’s Schonefeld Airport (SXF) are frequent, provided by many airlines including EasyJet and RyanAir, but the airport is actually 18 km outside of the city centre. There are however a good range of transfers, including the Airport Express bus, which takes 30 minutes to take you to your Berlin property.
