Visit the Museums

Shopping
The centre of Bordeaux is easy to walk around with its many independent shops and department stores such as Galeries Lafayette. Rue St. Catherine is the busiest shopping street running for more than 1km or visit the Cours de LIntendance for high-class designer boutiques.
Places to Visit Around Bordeaux, Aquitaine
Croiseur Colbert
This enormous battleship features guided tours from the engine rooms and kitchens to the hospital and Admirals quarters. It is docked at the Quai des Chartons. It was one of Frances largest battleships and was only removed from active service in 1991.
Palais de la Bourse
The palais is a magnificent building overlooking Bordeaux's winding River Garonne. It was once the Stock Exchange and now houses the Chamber of Commerce. Guided tours of this lovely building are well worth taking.
Palais Rohan (Rohan Palace)
This grand and historic building now serves as the town hall. It was built for the Archbishops of Bordeaux and dates back to the Middle Ages. Guided tours are offered in french.
Jardin Public and Jardin Botanique
This centrally located park is perfectly situated for peaceful walks amidst the colourful gardens around the huge lake.
Weather in Bordeaux, Aquitaine
Bordeaux has a temperate climate influenced by the warm Gulf Stream in the Atlantic Ocean. From March to May the weather is pleasantly warm with rain showers. Summers are hot and mainly dry, reaching 28°C (82°F). From September to November temperatures are warm with more rain showers. Winter breaks are also possible with average temperatures a mild 11°C (52°F).
