The Braunton Museum is in the Bakehouse Centre. The village has a number of pubs namely, the Mariners Arms, Black Horse, Williams Arms in Wrafton and Agricultural Inn and there is a good selection of restaurants and cafes. St Brannock's Church is a few minutes walk from country cottages. It is over seven hundred years old and the chancel has three lancets and an arch, a curious brass palimpsest and a chest from the Spanish Armada.

Braunton has an athletics track, cricket club, football club and there is a sub aqua club in Ilfracombe. Saunton Golf Course has a choice of two championship courses or you can travel further afield to Minehead and West Somerset Golf Club. Surfers will be interested to learn that a number of surf brands were created in Braunton including Salt Rock and Tiki. Close to Braunton Sands there is a rifle range and nature reserve.
