BUENOS AIRES; TO MEET THE IMPOSSIBLE (TRAVEL) DREAM

Travelers are seekers--always in search of that one place that will captivate, get under yourskin, and enter your heart. Please don’t go to Buenos Aires unless you are ready to fall in love……

And how not to? Buenos Aires in Central Argentina offers something for every kind of seeker all within an easily and safely traversable city. With it’s multitude of breathtaking monuments, French architecture (that makes you feel like you are in a South American Paris) fabulous statuary, and extremely warm and alive people, how can you not love it?

Buenos Aires IS the city that never sleeps. Like our hearts, it never stops beating. By day the light is bright, shining on its beautiful architecture and denizens. By night it is alight with the vibrancy of its nightlife; whether it be a tango show, opera (at one of the most famous opera houses in the world), ballet, a loooong leisurely late dinner, clubbing, or dancing (tango or otherwise!). It seems like the evening is over only when the dawn returns.

Buenos Aires’s character is defined by its various neighborhoods, each with their own distinct ambience….”Micro center” is the commerce and business core. “San Telmo” the historic and now gentrifying birthplace of Tango. “Recoleta”is the classic and classy traditional neighborhood known for its shopping, beauty, elegance, and museums. The Recoleta Cemetary and weekend outdoor art and crafts fair are some of the most visited tourist attractions. Palermo Soho is the mecca for smart bars, gourmet dining and cutting edge boutiques. And many other neighborhoods are waiting for your exploration and discovery.

We travelers are always looking for good value. With its incredibly advantageous exchange rates for foreigners, anything and everything is a fraction of the price that it would be at home!..As if that weren’t enough, the people are some of the warmest and most fun in the world. They enjoy vigirous conversation and debate, all good naturedly, and are eager to share their city with you. Just don’gt get them started on politics!

Finally, I would be remiss in not mentioning the following—perhaps my and my son’s favorite reason for being there…..Chivalry is quite alive in BA. Ladies, you will never encounter men who will make you feel so womanly and attractive. And gentlemen, my son swears (as evidenced by his fourth return) that there are more beautiful women in Buenos Aires than anywhere in the world.

Buenos Aires is the city to fall in love with. Beware—it is addictive!
