Cala Llonga, Menorca, not to be confused with Cala Llonga, Ibiza, lies on the south east corner of Menorca in the Balearic Islands. The beach can be reached either on foot, bicycle or by car, and once you arrive, the golden sands and warm, clear waters of the Mediterranean will be completely irresistible. Many long hours can be spent simply soaking up the sun, taking quick swims and generally relaxing with the sun on your face, but if you would prefer a little activity during your days on Cala Llonga beach, there is always plenty to do. Windsurfing and surfing breaks are great fun from Cala Llonga accommodation when the conditions are right, and both equipment and lessons can be arranged with ease. Deep sea fishing, sailing and scuba diving trips can also be arranged from the beach front in nearby Mahon, as well as the small harbour of Cala Llonga.

The area surrounding a Cala Llonga apartment is particularly good for walking and horse riding. The craggy, rugged coastal paths rise to a fair altitude, giving walkers and riders excellent views across the island and over the sea, as well as taking in some of the most picturesque and impressive spots in southern Menorca, including the old British Fortress of San Felipe. The S’Albufera Nature Reserve also makes a magnificent place to spend a day, especially if you have an interest in the huge range of bird life that calls the park home.

Mahon is the islands capital and commercial centre, attracting visitors from across the island and from throughout the Balearic Islands to enjoy the excellent shopping, first class restaurants and luxurious facilities. The huge natural harbour attracts vast yachts to moor, and the gloriously golden beaches that line the bay are of massive appeal to those visiting Mahon and those lucky enough to be staying in self catering Cala Llonga apartments.

Menorca’s long summer is in full swing from early June until late September, when you can be sure of enjoying daily temperatures exceeding 30˚C on the vast majority of days. Winters are still warm, with daily temperatures rarely below 10˚C, although winds can be strong during January and February, making excellent windsurfing and kite-surfing conditions.

Cheap flights to Cala Llonga, Menorca

Due to their location outside Mahon, Cala Llonga apartments and villas are exceedingly easy to reach from the UK.
