Cala Murada is a small Mallorcan town on the east coast of the island serving the neighbourhood with a post office, bank, supermarkets and a hair salon. There are some good local restaurants offering seafood dishes such as paella. It is a coastal town with some holiday homes which take advantage of the beautiful beaches in the area. Felanitx - This historic town is a short drive from your villa at Cala Murada. Visit the old monastery of San Salvador and some of the many churches in the pleasant town. There is an excellent Sunday market.
Palma - The capital city of Majorca is Palma and it is a 65km drive from your self catering villa in Cala Murada and is well worth a visit. The Old City of Palma is a maze of shady streets with typical tall shuttered apartments with decorative metalwork. The Arab Baths are now somewhat neglected but there is a beautiful cupola and the surrounding garden is filled with flowers and birds. La Seu, the 14th century Cathedral, is one of the many breathtaking historic buildings in the city. It was restored in 1901 by Antoni Gaudi, the architect who was famous for many of Barcelona’s wonderful buildings..
