The Andratx district in which Camp de Mar lies is a popular tourist destination during summer months, when the population triples in size. But Camp de Mar somehow avoids the majority of the crowds, and has a relaxing atmosphere, with a sheltered sandy beach that is not overrun by tourists - even during the busiest months. Some good snorkelling and swimming can be enjoyed in the warm waters, and the beach is ideal for families. The commercial centre of the resort runs between the Hotel Playa and the Hotel Club, and has all the basic amenities you would expect.
Nightlife in Camp de Mar also has a relaxed feel to it, with a small number of bars and restaurants. The livelier Santa Ponsa is just a few kilometres around the bay, and neighbouring Peguera also offers a good night out.
Golf is a big attraction in the Camp de Mar area, with six Championship courses in the southwest of the island alone, including the relatively new Golf de Andratx course at the Royal Dorint Hotel. Puerto Andratx is the biggest neighbour, and offers an enjoyable night out for all ages. Andratx hosts a street market every Wednesday, where you can haggle over locally produced fruit and vegetables to cook with in your self-catering accommodation. The harbour at Puerto de Andratx is regarded as one of the best known yachting harbours on the island, and is home to well over 300 moorings. A bus runs to Palma every hour, and the island’s capital offers great shopping, dining and sightseeing, including a magnificent cathedral.

Camp de Mar is a straightforward 32km drive from Palma de Mallorca Airport (PMI), or alternatively there are a number of taxi and transfer options to choose from when you arrive. The airport itself is well served, with a number of operators flying daily from the UK.
