Cardona is found less than an hour away from Barcelona, one of Spain’s major urban centres. Here visitors can find plenty to see and do for several days. The city has a great cultural heritage with many galleries and museums, fantastic architecture such as the Sagrada Familia and a wide variety of performing arts centres. Barcelona also has several large parks and even a man-made beach, so it is a great place to head for families on a summer holiday.
The city of Girona can also be reached in around an hour, with its Medieval old town and cathedral which has been converted from an old Moorish mosque. There are also plenty of other ecclesiastical examples throughout the city making it a great place to visit for anyone interested in European history.

Cardona has a typical Mediterranean climate with hot summers and winters which are cooler but are still quite mild, never usually dipping below around 10C. The weather is also generally sunny even in winter, making Cardona a very nice destination for a self-catering break even in the cooler months.
