The market has been in existence since 1155, and is enormous, filling much of the town with stalls.

During the week from 27th November, the St Siffrein Fair rolls into town, bringing with it all the gastronomic specialities of Carpentras, including the famous black truffles, strawberries, melons and bonbons!

Walking is a favourite activity on a Carpentras holiday, and there are a huge range of marked paths leading away from the village and off into the lush hills.
