Chapel Amble is a north Cornish riverside village two miles north of Wadebridge on the River Amble, a tributary of the river Camel. The main road through the village crosses the river on the historic bridging point at Penpont and five minor roads meet in the village centre. The village is considered a conservation area and has a pub, The Maltsters Arms, and a post office with a shop and pottery.

The highlight of Chapel Amble is its common. It has a small stone building in the middle, which was once an old pig house. Short terraces of two storey Chapel Amble cottages with gabled porches and casement windows surround the common. In the holiday season the population increases greatly with many visitors seeking self catering or b&b accommodation in the cottages in Chapel Amble and using the popular pub and its restaurant.
Visitors cannot fail to fall in love with Chapel Amble accomodation and Cornish cottages in the village, not only due to the charming beauty of them, but also because it gives them more freedom to explore the immediate area and the rest of Cornwall. Northwest of the common is The Firs, a large tall house almost hidden behind two fir trees. Close by is a disused farmhouse and it outbuildings lie neglected. The village around the Chapel Amble cottages is mainly on level ground. Although the look of the cottages takes you back in time, inside they are tastefully decorated (some with Chapel Parket aged wood floors), furnished and equipped to the highest standards.

A holiday cottage in Chapel Amble with its home from home feeling is the ideal place for a relaxing holiday to walk and explore the hedgerows, unusual buildings, winding lanes, old farmsteads, the Old Smithy and converted chapels and Gothic style church in the area. It is also a beautiful base and somewhere peaceful to come home to after a busy day exploring North Cornwall. What adds to the character of some cottages is the attached unaltered long slated and low stone sheds with planked doors, which were originally piggeries.
For those who want more than a relaxing holiday in the beautiful countryside, then there is a great deal to see and do. Golfers will love to tee off at Bowood Golf Course in Lanteglos, St Enodoc Golf Club in Rock or St Kew Golf Club. The estuary between Rock and Chapel Amble is a popular spot with anglers and it runs close to the well known walking and cycling track, the Camel Trail.
The National Trusts, Lanhydrock House is nearby and the Eden Project is about half and hours drive away. A ten-minute drive takes you to the beautiful beaches of Polzeath, Daymer Bay and Rock and from Rock you can take the ferry to Padstow. Wadebridge, the nearest town has shops, garages and supermarkets.

Chapel Amble's climate is mild as is the rest of Cornwall. However you will find the coastal areas in north Cornwall slightly cooler.
Travel to Wadebridge, Cornwall
Newquay and Plymouth airports and the mainline railway at Bodmin Parkway and Liskeard and National Express serve Wadebridge, as do local buses. There is no public transport link to Wadebridge from Chapel Amble.
