This is one of the most beautiful stretches of coastline on Sardinia. The scrubland along the coast is called Maquis and consists of herbs and low bushes such as sage, juniper and myrtle. Enjoy the Beaches - Baia Chia is known for its soft, fine sand and high sand dunes. The juniper tress running down to the turquoise waters make this a very pretty area. Dolphins can be seen in the warm waters and flamingoes frequent the local lake. Surfing is popular along this coast when the wind blows in the right direction.

Cala Cipolla can be reached on foot from Baia Chia. It is a quiet bay with seven offshore reefs which are ideal for snorkeling and scuba diving.

Rent a Boat - This lovely coastline has many bays and sandy coves which are best explored by boat. You can explore as far as Capo Teluada, Sardinia’s most southerly point by boat. Enjoy the aquamarine waters and spend time at the beautiful Tuaredda beach.

The nearest town to Chia is Pula, an ancient town with old architecture and historic character, now a thriving holiday resort. It is about 16km easy drive from your self catering villa.

The local Sardinian town of Nora dates back to Roman times and has some wonderfully preserved Roman architecture. It is known for its famous theatre productions each summer.

The capital city of Sardinia is Cagliari and it is just 49km, a 30 minute drive, from your villa in Chia. This lively town has a historic centre overlooking the sea, great shopping and an active nightlife. For those looking for a local Sardinian dining experience, there are plenty of excellent restaurants offering authentic Sardinian cuisine.

Cagliari airport and ferry port are 40 minutes from Chia.
