Although many of Chiusi's rich archaeological finds have been removed to other museums, the local Museum of Etruscan History has some excellent exhibits in a neoclassical building on Via Porsenna. Painted urns and funery urns have beautiful decorations and symbols. The 12th century Duomo Cathedral is also very impressive and has its own museum with remains of the 3rd century city walls in the gardens. A tour of Chiusi's underground tunnel system is also a fascinating step back in time.

Chiusi is known for its excellent restaurants. Sampling the local cuisine and excellent wines are the perfect way to end a hard day exploring the local history. This cultural pageant is performed on horseback, by skilled bareback riders (contrada) and the aim is to win the Palio, an ancient painted cloth. It takes place on July 2nd and August 16th   each year.
