Collazzone lies 25km south of Perugia, in the heart of the Umbria region. Being an Italian commune, Collazzone includes a number of smaller villages and hamlets within its territory, known as frazzone. The nearby woodlands offer a number of recently-developed nature trails, which also connect the main sites of interest and offer a great way to explore the area. Traversing these by foot or bicycle will allow you to take in the glorious Umbrian countryside as you go, and it is even possible to enjoy the trails by horseback. The longest of the trails covers over 16km, and can easily fill a whole day if you include a picnic along the way.

As well as the surrounding frazzone, there are many nearby places to visit when staying in Collazzone. The town of Todi (20km south) is the main draw for visitors, with many tourist attractions to cater to all tastes. Also consider a day trip to the walled town of Massa Martana (21km south-east), which boasts some of Umbria's finest Renaissance churches.
