Cool off with a swim in the warm aquamarine sea or enjoy some of the watersports which are available. Snorkeling, scuba diving, parasailing, windsurfing, kite surfing, sailing and deep sea fishing are all on offer around Dawn Beach. Horseback riding, jeeps and quad biking are also fun activities on the island. The area also has a vibrant nightlife for those looking to party the night away. Places to Visit at Dawn Beach, St Maarten
The high point of St Maarten is Pic du Paradis which is popular for hiking or quad biking and has some beautiful views of the island. Philipsburg is a pleasant pedestrianised town for exploring with its waterfront shops, old church and backstreet cafés which are great for people-watching. The tax-free shopping on the island draws many cruise ships which frequent this charming port town. One of the most popular trips with visitors is the Three Island tour which takes visitors to snorkeling spots around the less well-known islands of Tintamarre, Pinel and Green Key. There is also a popular dive site to the wreck of HMS Proselyte which sank in 1801. The Butterfly Farm has a fine collection of exotic colourful butterflies set amidst tropical landscaped gardens.
Weather at Dawn Beach, St Maarten
As with most Caribbean islands, St Maarten has a warm climate all year round. Temperatures are a very reliable 29-32°C (84-89°F). The islands receive slightly more rain showers in October and November, but this only amounts to around two inches per month and will not spoil your St Maarten holiday villa vacation.
Travel to Dawn Beach, St Maarten
The main airport for flights to and from St Maarten is St Julianna (SXM) International Airport on the Dutch side of the island. It is about 16km from your villa at Dawn Beach, which is on the opposite French side of the island.
