Holidaymakers looking for a fantastic vacation in the Rhone-Alpes region of France should try the delightful commune of Duingt. Located in the Haute-Savoie department this area of the country offers plenty of things for holidaymakers to see and do. Lyon is about one hour and 45 minutes away and features many museums, galleries and wonderful historic buildings including the impressive cathedral as well as beautiful parks and gardens.
The warmest time of the year to visit this part of France is generally July and August when the average daily maximum temperature is approximately 26 degrees centigrade. January is the coldest month with average highs of 6 degrees centigrade, although the temperature can fall to zero with sleet and snow showers not uncommon during winter. The wettest month tends to be September with an average rainfall of 93mm.
Lyon-Saint Exupéry Airport (LYS) is one hour and 30 minute’s drive from Duingt. Flights arrive at Lyon from numerous cities in France as well as international airports such as Amsterdam (AMS), Brussels (BRU), Dublin (DUB), Frankfurt (FRA), Lisbon (LIS), London-Gatwick (LGW), Madrid (MAD), Rome-Fiumicino (FCO), Vienna (VIE) and Zurich (ZRH) amongst others. Avis, Europcar, Hertz, National/Citer and Sixt are car rental firms located at the airport. Transfers from the terminals to the car rentals are free.
