The village of Es Grau is positioned within the Parc Natural S’Albufera, the largest and most important wetland area in the Balearics. A number of walking and cycling tracks can be enjoyed in its vicinity, which is almost blanket covered by farmland and countryside, offering superb views as you go.
The village has a well-stocked supermarket, three cafe-bars and a waterside restaurant, meaning you will not have far to go when in search of something to eat or drink. With fishing a traditional mainstay of the local economy it also makes sense to try the local specialities during your stay.
A great local excursion involves a boating day trip around the bay, with many small coves and beaches to explore. These offer some excellent swimming opportunities, in secluded spots which remain undiscovered by the vast majority of tourists. You can also continue along to the busier attractions of Mahon harbour.
