Make a holiday rental property or apartment in Famagusta, Cyprus your home away from home

Famagusta is an amazing place. One side of the town is an absolute ghost town, as the Greek Cypriot population fled before the invading Turkish army, leaving breakfasts still on the table, washing still on washing lines and shops with lanterns still burning. However, a new part of Famagusta, one which is not deserted, has risen since the 1970’s. Modern Famagusta is a vibrant and lively town, centred around the impressive walled city, marked by a ring of defensive towers. Ancient Famagusta is known as one of the finest medieval centres in the whole of Europe, which, when combined with the beaches of the Mediterranean, puts Famagusta apartments under high demand from tourists.

Things to do in Famagusta, Cyprus

There is a huge amount to see and do from a Famagusta apartment. Touring the ancient walled town at the centre of Famagusta is a magnificent way to spend a day, wandering from Othello’s Tower to the Porta del Mare (Sea Gate), Twin Churches of Templars and Hospitallers to the Palazzo del Provedittore, to name but a few attractions. History lovers will be extremely pleased with the prospect of taking a holiday in one of the Famagusta properties available, with vivid representations of life from the 11th century, right through to today.

The sandy beaches of Famagusta are an absolute delight too. Set on a long stretch of golden sand, Famagusta is known to be one of the finest beach destinations in Cyprus, and if you feel like getting a little more adrenaline flowing than you would sunbathing on the beach, visitors can enjoy scuba diving, surfing, sailing, deep sea fishing and windsurfing.

The world famous ruins of Salamis can be found just a short drive north from a Famagusta apartment. Salamis was supposedly founded by Teucer on his return from the Trojan War, and was the greatest commercial centre of the Roman Empire.
