The secluded beaches of Praia Pintadinho and Praia Canarais are secluded little beaches under large cliffs which hide caves which can be explored at low tide.

The main square of the village is very picturesque, and is surrounded by a variety of, cafes from which you can get a real feel of Portuguese village life, and time seems to stand still. The white washed houses, tiny shops and traditional restaurants which line the cobbled streets of the village glisten in the sun, providing a perfect contrast to the turquoise waters which surround three sides of the village. The luxury golf resort of Pestana is just a few kilometres outside the village, and easily accessible from a Ferragudo apartment. There are two championship golf courses here, the Vale da Pinta and Quinta do Gramacho. The Vale da Pinta has been rated in the 40 best golf courses in Europe.

On the other side of the estuary lies the town of Portimao. The town offers a little of everything that makes the Algarve such a hugely popular destination, from the fine beaches to the magnificent local cuisine, and from the rich cultural heritage to the fine sporting facilities.
