Glyfada is known as the most cosmopolitan suburb of Athens and from a self catering villa there are a host of places and experiences to be enjoyed close by. The centre of Athens with its ancient monuments and the Acropolis is just 15km away. Enjoy the beautiful coastline or visit one of the many islands nearby.
There are plenty of excellent golf courses in the area for enjoying the sunny climate. Dine out at night within walking distance of your apartment and enjoy Greek and international cuisine to suit all tastes and wallets. Greece is also known for its exciting nightlife with plenty of bars and nightclubs offering a choice of music and entertainment.
Glyfada is surrounded by a beautiful coastline with many marinas. Enjoy swimming in the clear blue water or participate in some of the watersports which are on offer here.
Glyfada is well known for the well established Glyfada Golf Club which hosts many international golfing events and is within easy walking distance of your self catering apartment.
Athens - The historic centre of this ancient city is less than 30 minutes drive from your self catering apartment in Glyfada, along the new Attiki Odhos highway. The Acropolis and the Parthenon are the number one tourist attraction here and they offer wonderful views across the city and temples of Athens.
The big attraction in Corinth is the ancient canal with its one lane bridge which lifts to allows boats to pass into the canal. Take a canal cruise and appreciate the amount of work involved in carving this canal from the rock. Corinth has some excellent shops too.
Take a trip to a Greek Island - Known for their beauty and culture, many of the Greek islands are within easy reach of your apartment in Glyfada. The harbours of Piraeus and Rafina offer daily excusions to the Saronic Islands, Aegina, Paros and Naxos. Catamarans and hydrofoils also make speedy crossings to other Greek islands.
Visit a Greek Temple at Sunset - Greece is full of wonderful antiquities, legends and ancient architecture. Even if you do not visit them all, the Temple of Poseidon is a wonderful location on Cape Sounion. It is just 30 minutes drive from Glyfada. Go in the late afternoon and watch the marvelous sunset whilst enjoying a local cocktail.
From late April onwards the weather in Glyfada, Greece is beautifully sunny and warm. Temperatures reach 32C (90F) in July and August with no rainfall at all until November.
