Lanzarote - Lanzarote is the island of volcanoes  so many that it looks almost lunar-like. The island is alive with villages and beautiful beaches. Visit the Timanfaya National Park for a closer encounter with nature.

La Palma - The green island of La Palma has beautiful caves, and volcanos to climb. The Caldera de Taburiente National Park is at the center of the island. Other attractions include the Spanish Colonial architecture of the main town, Santa Cruz de la Palma.

Fuerteventura - On the oldest island Fuerteventura beaches are the longest of the entire archipelago. Fuerteventura is closest to the African continent and renowned for fishing. Fuerteventuras sandy beaches offer a quiet, relaxing atmosphere.

Gran Canaria - This is the most developed of the islands with its resorts, lots of entertainment and great beaches. Attractions include the bustling city of Las Palmas and the spectacular sand dunes of Maspolomas. Golf in Gran Canaria (Grand Canary) takes place all year round at the many golf courses.

While water-based activities like scuba diving, snorkeling and windsurfing are widespread, the Canary Islands also offers activities such as hiking, trekking and a tour of their unique culture. Canary Island golf courses are also abundant for those who crave a tee-off.

Due to the cold Canaries currents summer temperatures rarely rise very high, and thus the climate is constant throughout the whole year. Daily sunshine hours range from an average of 6 hours in winter to as many as 11 hours in the summer months.

Cheap Canary Island flights can now be found on budget airlines like Ryanair, although this destination is already well-established on the mainstream airlines. Travel within the Canary Islands can be done through Canary Island ferries and through domestic flights. However, moving between islands may be slightly difficult. Similarly while on the island, you might want to rent a vehicle, else it be best to explore one island at a time.
