Off shore, Grenada is surrounded by some magnificent coral reefs, home to a vast array of marine species. The best way to discover the underwater world off the beaches of Grenada is to take a snorkel or even better, head out into the Caribbean armed with scuba diving gear.

The interior of Grenada is a seductive mix of tropical forests, cascading water falls and gushing rivers as well as some of the most astonishingly beautiful mountain lakes you will ever see. The capital of Grenada, St Georges, is regularly cited as the most beautiful town in the whole of the Caribbean. Sitting on a crescent shaped bay, St Georges boasts some wonderfully traditional shops, restaurants and villas, and throughout the year, there are festivals and fairs which are celebrated with gusto. Laid back rhythms fill the air during these times, and the tiny rum distilleries found on the island ensure that there is enough rum to keep the parties going long into the warm evening. The annual festival is a fantastic time to get a flight to Grenada, occurring in the second week of August.

Temperatures average around 29?C for the whole year, with only very slight variations from month to month, meaning Grenada perfectly fits the old cliché; there really is not a bad time to take a holiday in Grenada. Rain is not uncommon throughout the year, but it tends to disappear as fast as it arrived, and with temperatures as high as they are, a little rain cannot possibly ruin your holidays in Grenada.

Located on the southern tip of Grenada, 5 miles from St Georges, the Point Salines International Airport (GND) makes holidays to Grenada really easy to start. Flights to Grenada are usually routed through Barbados (BGI), Puerto Rico (SJU) or Trinidad (POS), but there are some flights to Grenada which come directly from Europe. In Britain we are lucky, there are three airlines flying to Grenada directly from London Gatwick (LGW). The airlines flying to Grenada are British Airways and Virgin Atlantic.
