Everything you need whilst staying in a Guardamar villa can be found in the town, including a range of shops, bars, restaurants and a lively street market on Wednesdays. The Guardamar Castle makes for very interesting viewing, especially if you go there as soon as you arrive in a Guardamar rental apartment in order to get your bearings from above the town, standing on the castle’s ramparts.

The Reina Sofia National Park is a delightful place to walk, especially for children, as there are designated play areas and peacocks roaming freely. There are a number of marked trails which surround the beautifully landscaped lake at the centre of the park, which attracts not only human visitors, but a huge variety of waterfowl too. The Torrevieja Aquapark, Aquopolis, is located just a few miles from a Guardamar property too.

Places to holiday in Guardamar, Spain

The town of Torrevieja is located just a few miles west of a holiday rental apartment or villa in Guardamar. It is also a beach and water sports haven, but is a much larger centre than Guardamar. There are a huge range of boat trips which leave from the Guardamar marina, and the town centre is filled with hundreds of bars, restaurants and clubs.

Weather in Guardamar, Spain

There is never a bad time to take a Guardamar rental apartment or villa, as the climate is remarkable stable all year round, with an average of over 300 days of sun per year. Temperatures in the coldest months (January and February) remain between 10 and 15°C, with remarkably few days of rain. In the summer, temperatures can soar up to 40°C, although temperatures usually remain between 30 and 35°C.

Flights to Guardamar, Spain

A Guardamar apartment can be reached from either Alicante (ALC) or Murcia Airport (MJV) in around 40 minutes. Both airports receive daily flights from most major airports in the UK, so finding a cheap and convenient flight should be very easy. Both airports house car hire companies too, making exploration of the surrounding area a real pleasure. Alternatively, there are busses which run between Alicante and Guardamar on a regular basis.
