Madagascar lies off the east coast of Africa and is the world’s fourth largest island. It is unique. The animals, plants and people are unlike anywhere else. This extraordinary country has long remained obscure as a destination and is little known even amongst the most serious of travellers. Nosy Be is a smaller island off the North West coast and has become the favourite destination for tourists – small in number though they are. Coastal views are spectacular and there are some excellent beaches. The presence of coral reefs means that the sand is white or golden and more often than not a lagoon completes the perfect picture. Nosy Be enjoys a tropical climate all year round, with average temperatures higher than the rest of Madagascar. From 27°C in July-August (the winter season ) to 35°C in February –March. The rainy season lasts from January to March.

And Sams thanks for all the ropes! and your patience .. we will come back! we will come back! Armel and Pierre Sams was very helpful - arranged trips, taxis, meal reservations etc. - nothing was too much bother. Dean cooked some superb meals for us and Rosina called in twice to see us, plus her arrangements for Tana and taxi pick ups were all as planned. Madagascar is certainly different and even though we have travelled a great deal and I have lived in a third world country for three years there were still new experiences to be had. We have good memories of our stay and this is in part due to the beautiful villa and the care taken to ensure that everything ran smoothly and efficiently. Elizabeth H The villa is more beautiful than we could have imagined. The gardens are spotless and the view from our terrace amazing.

Routes to Madagascar

Option One: Direct flights now available - Milan to NosyBe with Air Madagascar and Air Corsair. Option Two: To Antananarivo (Tana) the capital with Air France or Air Madagascar - then another short flight (45 mins) is required to get to Nosy Be. This flight is with Air Madagascar. Some choose to go via Antananarivo (known locally as Tana) to explore the mainland.
