The apartment is the garden floor of a magnificent Ski Lodge type Mountain Home at 6500 ft among tall firs above the Sundance Resort on the edge of the Mount Timpanogos Wilderness Area. The apartment, designed by international artist Jann Haworth, is finished to a very high standard, with solid oak floors, ceramic tiles, stained glass detail, wood burning stove and central heating. The spacious living area has stunning views of Mount Timpanogos and across the valley. The property is minutes from Robert Redford's Sundance Ski and Summer Resort, with its famous Owl Bar, fine restaurants and cultural events. It is Ski In/Ski Out in winter and has direct access to the miles of Mountain Biking trails in summer. Pure mountain air and spring water from the tap! Hike the mountain trails and see gorgeous meadows full of wild flowers, herds of elk, big horn sheep, deer and even the occasional cougar or moose! There is fishing and rafting in the renowned Provo River and nearby stables.

The property is located above the Sundance Ski and Summer Resort at an elevation of about 6500 feet, on the edge of the Mount Timpanogos Wilderness Area. It is surrounded by open woodland, a mixture of fir, aspen and maple, renowned for their Fall colours, which are usually at their best in late September/October. Below the house the North Fork Creek, (which supplies drinking water straight from a mountain spring!) wanders through a lush meadow full of alpine flowers and butterflies in the summer. A trail alongside the creek leads to the spectacular Stewart Falls. The region abounds in wild-life: deer, elk, moose, bobcat, raccoon and cougar, as well as rare birds. Flying squirrels can be seen at night coming to the decks. The Provo River, famous for its trout fishing, is a short drive down the canyon. Hikes range from an easy downhill walk through the Black Forest above the house (having ridden up the chair-lift!) to a strenuous day hike to the top of 12, 000 foot Mt Timpanogos.

Interior: Both bedrooms have bathrooms ensuite, with separate shower unit. Master bedroom has king size bed, view across valley and of mountain, generous cupboard / storage space and window seats. Second bedroom has queen size bed, wardrobe and stain glass shuttered hatch to kitchen. The large living room has antique wood burning stove, views of the mountain and valley, three piece sofa and window seats. Artitsts easel and writing desk - art lessons are available. Total property size is approximately 1500 square feet.

Exterior: The property stands in an acre of mixed aspen and fir woodland, commanding glorious views of mountain wilderness. It has a double car-port and additional parking. There is a tree-house. The apartment has covered terrace, furnished with rustic dining table and chairs. It is an easy 20 minute walk through the meadow along the creek to Stewart Falls, and there are miles of beautiful hiking trails in the surrounding area. The Sundance Resort offers 'haute cuisine' at the Tree Room Restaurant, and more informal dining in the Grill Room and Owl Bar, which features a year-round program of visiting Folk and Blues artists. There are also out-door movies at the Base, and concerts in the open-air Auditorium. Horse-riding is available at the nearby stables, and first-rate fishing in the 'Blue Ribbon' Provo river. Three mountain bikes are provided for the 20+ miles of trails, or you can simply ride the chair-lift.

Appliances: 32' flat screen with Direct TV and DVD player, telephone. Fully equiped kitchen with electric range, waste disposal unit, refrigerator, toaster, microwave etc Wi-fi internet access is available.

Ski: The property is ski in/out. Sundance is a premier Utah ski resort with great trails ranging from beginner to expert, tuition available and a cross-country ski center.

'We had a wonderful time here... stoking the wood stove and watching the Stellas Jays provided perfect after-ski entertainment, but the real highlight of our trip was the hike to the falls- so spectacular in the snow!' Rick Weisler and family- Dec 31st '06.
