This was our 4th family visit to Lake Morton and each year, we all want to stay longer. We live less than 30 minutes away, but yet we feel we're truly in a remote lake location. We love the convenience, access and location of the the lakehouse and nearby stores. The accomodations are very clean, spacious and comfortable - the bunkhouse is a plus for families with kids. We appreciate the well stocked kitchen, washer/dryer, etc., all you need to bring is groceries. This visit, the weather was sunny, mid-80's and we loved the improvements to the home (new windows w/screens and fans in each room). Really helped maintain a cool home as there was usually a nice breeze in the evenings. The kids love to kayak, fish, swim and float in the lake and we really appreciate Lake Morton not allowing jet skis or motor boats exceeding 8 mph. If you're seeking quiet lakefront relaxation, we highly recommend this rental property. We look forward to our visit again next year.

Six adults and 4 children were comfortably accommodated in this very well equipped and stocked house. The lake access made it very special for all of us, especially our grandchildren ages 3 to 8. The kayaks and canoe, as well as swimming from the dock kept the children happy and occupied the entire week. Being on a small lake, without the noise of jet skis or speed boats and water skiers made this a peaceful and safe environment for even young children to kayak (with the provided life jackets) and swim. This was part of a larger family get-together in the Seattle area and we were very glad we found this lovely house.

We stayed at this wonderful house with our daughter, 2 year old and 4 year old grandkids, and we absolutely loved it! First reaction when we walked in the door was perfect! The grandkids favorite part of our vacation was the bunk beds in the bunkhouse, it is like 2 separate houses in one, and is perfect for families traveling with kids. Our only problem was we probably should have picked a different time of year as it was cold and windy and the fish weren't biting, but the weather this year has been cold anyway, surely no fault of the house...it has a very homey, comfortable feel...and the yard...is absolutely gorgeous... picture perfect!!!
We will definitely be back!

Owners Response: We love hearing stories from our guests that have enjoyed our home and property with their friends and families. We have tried to keep the spirit of an older lakehouse with the comfort of modern amenities - all showcasing a beautiful lakefront setting with dock, landscaping, yard and deck that are inviting and relaxing places for our renters to enjoy.
We hope you'll consider staying at Lake Morton.
Sincerely,
Jennifer & Brent (owners)

We really enjoyed our stay at this house. It is truly a magical romantic place. So peaceful and quiet. Well maintained home with everything you need to have a home away from home
We could not resists take a canoe ride on the lake even in December.

Lake Morton House |

We really enjoyed our stay at Lake Morton House. It was a very homey place to stay, quiet and secluded in a way, but still within the metro Seattle area and all its attractions. The internet access and the audio-visual equipment were handy on the rainy days. We were able to see Mt. Rainier by taking the kayaks out on the lake and the view from the house was also quite nice. We took lots of beautiful sunset pictures from the dock. The large yard is gorgeous and well maintained. You might suggest that visitors bring their own adult size life jackets. It would also be helpful to have a set of canoe paddles. I was pleased with the supplies in the kitchen, especially all of the spices! Having a grill was a real plus. The house was well-stocked with just about everything you need for a stay, just as stated in the description.

We had a great time celebrating several birthdays with close family. It was pretty convenient to Pacific Raceways and was much more family-friendly than a hotel room! Our 4 year old loved the treasure trove of toys in the "bunkhouse" and the movies were great. We would have loved to stay long enough to see them. The only thing to add would be a few rugs, especially in the hallways since the original hardwood echoes a lot (early in the morning). The bunkbeds were really nice and cozy and the nightlights already present were a great touch for the kids. We'd love to come back in the summer when we could use the beach more. Great place!

We've been renting houses on new years for the past four years and the Morton House tops our list. Only an hour away from Seattle, and close to shopping some in our party were worried that it wasn't going to be "secluded" enough to relax, but were they wrong. The house has a great big yard set away from the street and hidden from its neighbors, and sits right on a pictaresque lake. A morning kayak ride out to the middle gave a beautiful view of Mt Ranier. The house was plenty big for 8 adults and a dog. The CD and DVD collection kept us entertained all weekend long. Not to mention the high-speed internet access. Also a big thumbs up to all of the available cooking equipment and glassware, you really dont need to bring anything! We would definitely like to come back in the summer to enjoy the lake more, but the house itself is a worthy retreat in the winter.

My business associates who shared the stay live in California and marveled at the scenery. The visit had all the conveniences of home. Just bring your food and you're ready to go. Forgot a toothbrush, they include a "Martha Stewart" guest basket for the little necessesities. Home living in a vacation setting. The 'west wing' is great for the kids (and parents) to have some privacy.

This was our 2nd visit to Lake Morton. Both visits exceeded our expectations and we plan to visit again in 2007. What we enjoyed the most: *comfortable accomodations for adults and kids (especially liked the separate bunkhouse) *very private, quiet location *kids loved the water and backyard activites *close, convenient access to highway and grocery stores *we enjoyed BBQing most of our meals We look forward to our next visit!
