Mulehouse St Kitts

Mulehouse is a wonderful place to stay! I cannot recommend it highly enough! Myself and four colleagues stayed there for around 2 months while we were working in St Kitts. Sue and Ray are the perfect hosts, so helpful, kind and friendly. They provided us with lots of really great local information, and made us feel so welcome in their beautiful home and garden. The apartments are lovely, very clean, with a well stocked kitchen and comfortable beds...and the garden surrounding the house is stunning! A proper tropical experience, and Sue and Ray were always quick to offer us some of the delights from their garden...fresh coconut, soursop, papayas. Perfect! Thank you Sue and Ray for making our stay in St Kitts so enjoyable!

Our Return

My wife and I have returned to Mule House twelve times. Starting in 2000 we only stayed for seven days to see what ST Kitts and Mule House was like. We returned for two weeks each year after that, rising to five weeks for our visit this year. Mule House run by Sue and Ray is ideal for relaxation with the tropical gardens bearing all kinds of fruit ( they taste so much better fresh from the garden).
The island of St Kitts is a beautiful place with many places to visit from the rain forest to old plantations and the beaches, the friendly people and and the laid back atmosphere gives people all the opportunity to time in the world to chill out and enjoy. We recommend Mule House to everyone.

St. Kitts Holiday at Mulehouse

We thoroughly enjoyed our two week stay at Mule House. The apartment was spacious, very clean and well appointed. The surrounding gardens are spectacular in beauty and bounty, including papaya, citrus, avocado, mango and star and passion fruit. Our gracious hosts, Sue and Ray, were always helpful from meeting us at the airport to assisting with shopping and beach recommendations. Sue also gave valuable assistance in dealing with a rental car problem.

We highly recommend these accommodations.

We returned to the Mule House in January this year and it was as good if not better than we remember. The owners are very friendly and helpful from meeting you at the airport (after a hour or so plane delay!) to help on whats going on around the island. The apartments are excellent, lovely and airy with nice outdoor space to enjoy the warm evenings. The island has lovely beaches and we easily spent a very happy two weeks on the beaches and relaxing in the beautiful garden at the mule house. Writting this review makes me want to book my next trip away!

Mulehouse and St Kitts

We first holidayed in Mulehouse accompanied by some friends, we only stayed for a week, because we didn't know what the accomodation or the Island would be like. We all ejoyed the holiday so much we went again in 2001 for two weeks, and we have been going every year since, the only difference now, is we go for four weeks. Why you may ask? well relax and enjoy; the accomodation is just what we want, the garden is a wonderful place just to look at or wander around. The variety of fruit that is growing in the garden is very wide. There are coconuts ,banannas, oranges, papaya, custard apple, mango to name but a few and they are available to eat (subject to asking Sue or Ray) the variety of birds is also very interesting. This year we watched a humming bird and nest, when we arrived there were eggs and when we left the chicks had flown. When we decide to eat in ther is the usual kichten to prepare your food or we can use the barbecue outside we always eat outside, the weather is always warm enough and when we go out for an evening meal you are just spoilt for choice.
The many beaches on the island are beautiful and there is often a local bar on the beach that will supply food and drink, the local food is excellent. When you decide to do something different, there are rain forests, mountains and the Brimstone hill fortress to explore.
Go to the Mulehouse and St Kitts relax and enjoy. I will be, next year.

Holidays at the Mulehouse

Several years ago I was looking for an alternative to the resorts on St. Kitts and found the Mulehouse. I arrived to spend the Christmas-New Years holidays. Just a short time into my stay I could only wish that I had found it sooner. Unlike the resorts, you get a real taste of island living. You have an actual apartment so that you can stretch out. The landscaped yard is beautiful. You can stroll around or just sit outside and relax.
The owners, Sue and Ray are a joy to know. They are willing to help youu arrange anything you may require during your stay on the island. They are also willing to give you an insight into the island that you can't find in any guidebook.
If you want to experience what it would be like to live on an island, this is it.
I look forward to many more Christmas and New Years holidays there.

Mule House Stay

This is a good place to stay if you really want a quiet place and to get away from the typical resort. You are a 10-15 minute drive to the beaches on the peninsula. The island itself can be navigated well with a rental car, which you'll need especially if you stay here. The owners are very kind and helpful. The apartments are quaint and clean with views of the ocean and the beautiful garden below. You have your own kitchen and you can really relax and feel at home while you're away.

Great holiday experience

Fantastic location, beautiful gardens and very comfortable accommodation with plenty of room to spread out etc. Arranging the holiday was smooth and being met at SKB as a first time visitor to Mule House was very helpful after a long flight. We would happily recommend Mule House to both young and older visitors - and St Kitts too is areal "find". Hope to be back some day..............

Mule House....interesting name for "Paradise".

Mule House is a wonderful place to stay. The accomodations are very comfortable, the views amazing, the gardens are magnificent, the eggs fresh and delicious, shall I go on? ... These are true things you could say about Mule House. When you factor in that Sue and Ray, the owners and operators, are so gracious and welcoming, then you would also agree that this place just might be the find of a lifetime.
You'll need to rent a car if you don't want to be inconvenienced by the schedule of "busses" ie small minivans w/ seating for 9-12 people. Taxi's are great but it's cheaper to rent a car then take taxi's wherever you want to go, the island roads are easy to get around on.
So rent a bleedin car while yer' here mate. We went grocery shopping in town almost every other day and it was a great way to meet the locals. The people in St. Kitts are wonderful folks, we have many friends there. You'll like Mule House and you'll like St. Kitts.
From,
Sonny and Barb, and Gail and Kevin (Written by Kevin)

Summer Holiday 2007

Date Submitted: February 19, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2007
Robert & Amelia,

This was our first visit to St Kitts and if first impression counts, Sue and Ray made a brilliant first impression!

Sue greeted and welcomed us at the the airport and escorted us to the Mulehouse. The accomadation was spacious, clean and had a beautiful well maintained tropical garden with a variety of exotic fruits. Ray gave us a tour of the garden and expertly named all the plants and fruits (which was perfect for a fresh fruit salad).

The guesthouse had great views of the sea and of the nearby mountains and tropical forest.

Sue and Ray also had expert knowledge of places to dine, places to visit etc. The Mulehouse was ideally located within easy reach to Basseterre and a short drive to Frigate Bay, Turtle Beach etc. We thoroughly enjoyed our Summer Holiday, Sue and Ray's hopitality and hope to return to the Mulehouse.

We have just returned from a fantastic week at "Mulehouse" St Kitts and found the whole holiday truly amazing. Sue and Ray (the owners) were very welcoming and collected us from the airport (as they do with all first time visitors) and were very hospitable and helpful during our stay.
The apartment was very spacious, cool and clean and what's more very Caribbean style which made the holiday special. There is no end of fruit available in the garden and the communal balcony was great for a Rum punch and gave us a chance to catch up with guests next door and Sue and Ray who give a wealth of information on the island itself and the history behind Mulehouse.
We will DEFINTALY be going back!
