Truly Magical

Date Submitted: March 07, 2012 Date of Stay: June 2011
We booked Mason Hirondelles for a big family holiday, with people coming from the UK, Ireland, and the USA, with ages ranging from 76 to 2. It was the 'Americans' first trip to mainland Europe, and our parents were viewing it as possibly the last big family holiday where we were all together, so it needed to be good. It was. The house itself is beautiful and spacious (enough room for my 17 year old niece and 16 year old nephew to escape the oldies). The pool was gorgeous (and private) as was the garden. Seillans itself is absolutely stunning and exactly what we wanted. The house is in the middle of the village and is a few steps from two lovely restaurants on the main square. We all agreed that we had the best holiday ever and this house and village will forever be in our hearts. Allan

I would just like to thank Andy and Lisa for allowing us to share their beautiful home . The whole experience from our first phone call to our departure could not have been more seemless. We gathered to celebrate my birthday a group of family and friends from mid 20's to mid 50's and everyone without exception had a wonderful time. The property is stunning - the photographs do not do it justice, the gardens are a vertitable larder supplying us with lemons and limes for g and t's , grapes for cheese and figs a plenty for baking stuffed with
locally sourced goat's cheese, magnifique ! The welcome we received from the local restaurants was outstanding particular thanks to Eric proprietor of La Gloire de Mon Pere who made my birthday so memorable and to his Dad for the wonderful Millefeuille he baked (Andy you were right it is truly amazing !)
The location is perfect for exploring - so close to Antibes and Cannes , St Tropez is good for a spot of people watching, St Maxine is
also worth a visit.
As you can gather a fabulous time was had by all. I would have no hesitation in recommending this property and area so any one of my friends. We hope to return again soon , my Uncle has actually suggested making it an annual event !

3 generations of our family(5 children and 5 adults) spent 14 wonderfull days in the villa at Seillans. every detail of the promotion of this accommodation was accurate and , for me, exceeded expectations. impecably clean and well maintained, the location exceptional for dining , exploring and relaxing. i will bore my friends to death with my stories of this stay and could not really note any dislikes. our 5 year old grand daughter wrote in her daily diary"today i lived in a beautiful house".
ray and delma clark

Amazing house in a beautiful location

This is a fantastic character building, on the edge of an atmospheric medieval village. It is very spacious, in good order throughout, and fitted with high quality furnishings. The garden is large, laid out on multiple levels with terraces providing plenty of scope for outdoor dining, and while on the edge of the village, feels quite secluded and private.

Seillans is a pretty village, without ever feeling too touristy. A boulangerie is a couple of minutes walk down through the village - ideal for early morning croissants and baguettes. There are two restaurants directly opposite - the chatter and bustle from these drifts up to the conservatory adding to the atmosphere in the house in the evening.

The house is well suited for anyone who wants to experience the character of Seillans - everything is a short walk away. If you're looking for total peace and quiet you would be better off looking for a villa deep in the woods, but this I think would be missing out on everything on offer in the village.

There are plenty of opportunities for activities and day trips in the surrounding area. Walking is well catered for, there are a number of marked trails in the area, with leaflets produced by the local tourist office.

The owner was helpful, and always responded to queries promptly. The local guardian was friendly and accommodating, dealing with our unusual arrival and departure times without problem.

In all, Seillans is a good base for exploring the surrounding area, the house itself a really atmospheric location from which to experience it.

Lovely house in a wonderful town location. Fantastic pool and garden with great views and restaurants and shops on the doorstep.

Many activities nearby including swimming in lake Cassien, boating, walking, horse riding, site seeing - we even went quad biking in the mountains.

We would definitely return and recommend to our friends.

Stayed at this wonderful property with some friends in the lead up to my wedding in the next village. Was perfect. The feel of a country house with fab pool, great garden, with lots of nooks and crannies to escape if needs be, yet in the middle of the most beautiful village so no need to jump in the car to get bread, visit the lovely restaurants or wander the pretty streets. Have no hesitation in recomending it to others. Book it and enjoy !

The property and village suppassed our expectations!

All descriptions regarding location, layout and facilities were very accurate. The property easily accommodated our number of 10 in all areas: pool side; indoor and outdoor dining; and lounge.

We found the property to be very clean and well maintained with plenty of helpful information about the workings of the property and things to do and see in the surrounding area.

We found the owners and repersentative who greeted us to be very helpful and prompt!

I would highly recommend this property to friends and would hope to return again.

We were a larger group from various destinations meeting up to celebrate a year of 'significant' birthdays. The house was everything described on this website and more!

The house is located towards the top of the village, and has a lovely outlook over the hills and valleys. It is roomy and extremely well-equipped, making it very simple just to settle in and not worry about anything. Parking is very conveniently located just across the road.

There are lots of delightful spots inside and out to while away the hours - the fruiting fig tree and grapevine were a big hit! If you have a need for exercise, the pool is refreshing, or there are many walks in the neighbouring countryside. We did a walk down to the bories, and another day walk over to Fayence.

The villa and Seillans truly exceeded all expectations, and we were just thrilled to be there. I can't recommend it enough.

We thoroughly enjoyed staying in this home, which accommodated our group of 7 beautifully. The garden, pool, and terraces were a lovely way to enjoy the Provencal views. A quiet reading room off the dining room provided a nice space for morning yoga. Seillans is a very picturesque and friendly village and we had a great time walking in the surrounding hills.

We had a fabulous time in Seillans, the house was brilliant for a large party.
It was furnished beautifully throughout, with everything we required.
Aurelie (the housekeeper) was on hand if we needed her.
The boys spent the whole week playing ping pong on the terrace, whilst the girls lazed in the sun loungers and wished the house was theirs!!
Such a great house for 'hanging out' in that we didn't do an awful lot of sight seeing! But we did enjoy walking around the town and generally pottering around. Will have to come back again and venture further afield!
Would highly recommend this property to anybody. Andy and Lisa were hugely helpful, easy drive from Nice airport, great French cheese, cheap wine, stunning surroundings - we'll be back!!!

This home is a home away from home. It is ideally located on a gorgeous mountainside with views in every direction. It was better than we anticipated from the description. Everything was orderly and well stocked, the owner provided very good service, and I've already recommended this property to business associates. The nearby towns are unique, great hiking, convenient to many restaurants. Antibes and Saint Tropez, as well as Nice are all within comfortable driving distance. I would absolutely go back.

Beautiful house and garden

D987 USA.
Date Submitted: July 08, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
This is a wonderful old house, located right in the middle of a beautiful village but nevertheless providing a secluded garden filled with fruit trees (orange, apricot, fig, olive) and a sun-drenched pool.

The house itself is very nicely furnished and provides two terraces (one covered by a grapevine) for outdoor eating. I strongly recommend a three minute stroll down through the village to buy bread at the bakery every morning followed by eating breakfast on the upper terrace, overlooking the garden.

Mountains, beaches, chateaux and the gorge de verdon are within an easy drive as are dozens of beautiful villages and many delightful walks and bike rides.

Within Seillans itself, there are several excellent restaurants within a two minute walk of the house.

Thank you for a wonderful holiday in your beautiful house in Seillans. Ten members of our family spent a magical week here.
We enjoyed the pool, the gardens, the well equipped house and also the fine restaurants and bars a short walk away. The village was enchanting as was the surrounding countryside. Lake Cassien and the Gorge du Verdon are well worth a visit.

We had the most perfect holiday staying here. The house was wonderful, we were three famillies, and it was perfect. The village is beautiful, with restaurants on the doorstep. We had relaxing pool days, days at the coast and exploring the gorge and other Provincal villages. The weather was thirty degrees every day and the rose wine was so good, just impossible not to love it here!

Stayed for 2 weeks in this beautiful house with our extended family. Photos did not do the property justice and it's location in the heart of a medieval perched village was just what we were looking for.
The house was clean, spacious and furnished to a high standard. The pool was enjoyed by all, as was the welcome shade in the garden. Weather was very hot, 35 degrees plus, however this stone house remained pleasantly cool.
The village shops and excellent restaurants are all within easy walking distance of the house.
The house is in a great location with both the coast and mountains within easy reach. We visited Nice, Cannes, the lavender fields, and the Gorge du Verdon during our stay.
The booking process was made very easy by the owners and we would thoroughly recommend this property.

Couldn't ask for more!

Our family of 6 kiwis was lucky enough to spend 3 months of the summer of 2006 staying in this wonderful home, in beautiful Seillans as part of a year long trip. We fell in love with both the house and the village.
The house is all it says on the web site, and more. Photos and descriptions simply can't capture the atmosphere of this place!!
The house is aesthetically gorgeous (very french), and very comfortably and tastefully furnished. It is great for indoor and outdoor living and entertaining, with plenty of everything. (we found many places on our travels where you were provided with bare basics - not so here.) The pool is great, and well fenced if you have young kids. Beds are all comfortable and bedding of a good quality.
The house was clean, and lovely Chrysalline (sp?) ensured it stayed that way.
The house is in a great location, very central. Family boules tournaments across the road were a regular occurrence, although we never got as proficient as all the old regulars there!
Bastille Day at La Place de la Republique (across the road) was a huge night, and it was great not to have far to stagger home!
Many hours were spent lying by the pool, eating figs off the tree, listening to the violin and the clink of glasses from the restaurant below and smelling the wonderful food smells wafting up fron La Gloire de mon Pere. Eventually you won't be able to resist (and why should you!), and you will pop down and see Eric for a lovely meal! The Salon de The just down the street is also well worth a visit. Our kids loved the crepes and the divine hot chocolate, and we loved the savoury flans (and the hot chocolate too!)
Seillans is a great place to stay. It is centrally located for day trips ( The Riviera, surrounding villages, the Canyon du Verdon, the pedollos at Lac de St Cassien). But you may find it hard to leave the tranquility of Seillans - it took us two weeks to leave the village!
If you like to keep fit, forget the running - walking up the hills around here is lovely, and a very good work out.
In summary, fabulous! Worth every cent!

Rest and Relaxation

WiggyToo Oxford, UK.
Date Submitted: April 27, 2008 Date of Stay: April 2007
We met up with a larger group in this house in April 2007, having had a long day driving so the last stretch up to the town and house was most welcome. The house stands in the centre of the town with great views over the valley and with the town amenities nearby (restaurants, bakery etc.). The square in front of the house is great for parking and just along is the town boules area which was great for watching the world go by and unwinding.

There are some nice walks in the area, we did two, one easier down to see some old dry stone huts called Borie, the other more strenuous up into the forests behind the house - plenty of signs of wild boar in these beech forests.

The web site description of the house is a good one; it is a large house over a number of levels that allowed our large group to disappear and then meet up in the large dining room and lounge. We were in the downstairs room which has its own bathroom and smaller room attached for family use (called "Summer Ground Floor Bedroom" on the site). This has shutters and french doors out onto the terrace that surrounds the house - really nice. Lots of personal touches in the house, nice furniture - it feels like someones house rather than a sparse rental property - all clean and well maintained.

The garden is lovely, we didn't use the pool but it looked clean and is large, but securely fenced off. There is a large outdoor table shaded by plants growing over a frame, put to immediate use when we arrived for a cold glass of local rose - really nice shade when hot.

We tried one of the local restaurants, just down from the house in the town square by the fountain, called La Gloire de Mon Pere with tables outside - lovely Sunday lunch in the sun. There are 3 - 4 other restaurants in the town so if you were staying longer than we did plenty of choice. There's a small Supermarket (Huit a Huit) in the lower part of the town and a much larger E.Leclerc 10 minutes drive away so easy to stock up.

What else? Seillans is a small town so has a nice feel to it and the old part is compact and full of interesting nooks and crannies. It is pretty central for visits out and about - other local towns (Fayence is nice), the coast is within easy reach, the hills inland too.

This is a fantastic old house in a beautiful location great for family groups or groups of friends looking to rest, relax and chill out - we would have loved to stay longer!

Our party of eleven stayed for one week in May 2006. A beautifully furnished, clean and well maintained house, roomy with super pool and large garden. Ideally situated for South France, the hills and Gorges du Verdon - certainly one of our favourite areas. The village has a traditional French atmosphere, lovely restaurants and community 'feel'. We enjoyed it immensely, toured the area extensively and there's still more to see! Highly recommended.

We have stayed 3 times in this wonderful holiday home in the beautiful village of Seillans.
This fantastic property is well maintained and equiped to a very high standard by the friendly owners and is ideally situated in this outstanding location with spectacular views of the village and mountains all round. The secluded pool is fantastic and ideal for all the family.
Several great restaurants and shops are within a short walk allowing you to enjoy village life without having to drive. Great base for a holiday in the South of France. Everything about the holiday exceeded our expectations and we would definitely recommend this property to friends.

Owners Response: P&P are working their way through the seasons with us; initially visited the house in the Spring, then in the Summer and most recently during last Winter when, I believe, they managed to get some skiing in at Isola and Greolieres-les-Neiges.
