The house was exactly as described in the web page. It was clean, tidy and very well equipped. A real home from home. The owner (Vincenzo)was friendly and helpful, he could answer any questions we asked, he spoke excellent English. The house is in a lovely quiet area on the outskirts of a small and very traditional Italian town. There are 2 pizzeria within walking distance which we used for takeaway pizza, lovely. We didn't meet anyone else who spoke English at all. The area was not "touristy" like many meditteranean beach resorts. The beach itself is amazing. It is easily reached across a board walk through a short stretch of sand dunes. The sand is fine, golden and clean. the beach has life guards at regular intervals. We visited at the weekend and during the week in August. It was noticably busier at weekends but nevertheless the children still had plenty of room for sand digging, swimming, and ball games. During the week it was relatively quiet. We loved the huge expanse of beach with the shallow warm sea which was very safe for the children swimming. They loved diving for pretty shells. The only downside was the beach parking. 1euro per hour if you were lucky enough to find a space. We timed it well.....get to beach by 10.30am and there were still a few places left, leave at 1.00pm and return at about 3.30pm to miss the midday sun and there were spaces again. Stay until 7pm or later and sit on a deserted warm beach and watch the sunset across the sea. We would highly recommend this area to anyone who wants to relax on a beach and not be surrounded by hordes of other foreign tourists. We didn't do any sightseeing here as we had already spent time in Rome, Naples, Pompeii and Amalfi, the children had seen anough ruins!! So can't comment on other activities.
