We regularly stay in apartments in London but this is honestly the best we have stayed in yet. Spacious, comfortably furnished with loads of character and every mod con you could want. Brilliant location with river taxi into central London 2 minutes walk and main rail and Docklands Light Railway 5 minutes walk. Great little deli/coffee shop on site as well and also a fantastic museum which kept our 10 and 8 year olds interested for hours.

October Visit By The Smith's From Worcestershire

Andrew.. Worcestershire.
Date Submitted: November 09, 2009 Date of Stay: October 2009
We are delighted with all of the aspects of our visit - contact and payment beforehand was informative and friendly, and we were met on arrival and on departure.

The apartment was clean, tidy and well equipped - ideal for a family visit to the capital - no need to move the car - river, bus, train and underground links are very good - a great place to 'crash out' when your feet are aching from a long day in town.

Total travel time into the centre of London is uop to an hour (including waiting time and walk to jetty/station) so factor these in when planning activities!

We ate out at lunchtimes, and made use of the relaxed 'home from home' in the evenings... great!

Owners Response: To clarify the station is 300 metres from the apartment and there are eight trains per hour to London centre and the travel time is London Bridge 20 minutes, Waterloo 23 mins and Charing Cross 27 mins, The riverbus can take up to an hour depending where you wish to alight.

Just got back from the Easter school holidays at this fantastic apartment. We had a great time, the photos don't do the apartment justice it is wonderful. Brian & Brenda are a lovely couple, very helpful and keep the apartment in excellent condition. Highly recommend staying here. Brilliant access to London and all it has to offer and we all enjoyed travelling up River on the Thames Clippers which are right at the door almost. Thank you Brian & Brenda for a great fortnight. Tom, Sue, Alexander & Andrew.

My family of five stayed at the appartment in December. We wanted a location within distance of central London, the Docklands and also accessible to Essex. The location was ideal, extremely clean and the hospitality of Brenda and her husband was first class. Having internet access was great for my daughters to stay in touch when we returned home in the evenings. We will definately use the appartment again when we return to the UK.

Discover London from its riverside

Date Submitted: January 09, 2009 Date of Stay: December 2008
Very nice apartment with view to the Thames. Excellent facilities and equipment, nicely and elegantly decorated. Makes you feel at home as you come in first time!

Very convenient location to visit Greenwich. Good public transport connections to and from the city centre (to train station 5-10 min on foot; 30 minutes with the train to any major railway/underground station). Particularly enjoyable is getting to the heart of London by boat on a sunny day (travel time 45-60 minutes, pier is 3 minutes walk from the flat)!

Private car is convenient but by no means a must. If you have one, it will be safely parked in a fenced area. Quick access to major road network and trouble-free crossing to the other shore.

Brenda has been a very hospitable and helpful landlady.

Absolutely recommendable for any type of stay in and/or around London without any reservations.

A great place to stay

We arrived by car on Christmas Eve and were met my the friendly, enthusiastic and extremely helpful Brian. He even helped us with the luggage! A very decent chap indeed.

The luxury apartment was exactly as described and was very clean and well-maintained. It has all the facilities a family with young children needs (boys aged 4 and 18 months) and enough space for them to play with their Christmas presents.

We had an excellent, hassle-free trip and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this excellent high quality accommodation.

I have local knowledge, but liked that there was a comprehensive information pack of local restaurants, transportation and sights to be seen to make the visitor's trip even better.

We will be staying again (if available).

Be sure to book early as this one is a winner!

Fantastic apartment for London or South England

Brian, Maria, Ben and Gabriel Southern California, US.
Date Submitted: December 02, 2008 Date of Stay: November 2008
The apartment pictures are good - but it looks much better for real offering a spacious and well decorated surrounding. The complex is very inviting with beautiful buildings which used to make up the Royal Arsenal artillery complex with history dating back to early 1500s and King Henry VIII. It is very quiet and makes you feel very relaxed after a day in London or visiting the countryside.

Woolwich Arsenal train station (short 10 min walk away) offers a fast and frequent service into London but there is also the opportunity to sail up the Thames using the local Thames Clippers. You could also rent a car and use the easy access to M25 and other motorways to explore the countryside.

We explored London, Oxford, Stonehenge, Bodium Castle and Battle of Hastings site and it was always a pleasure to return back to the apartment and relax.

The hosts (Brian and Brenda) put in so much effort before you arrive that it is no surprise that you end up having a great vacation. Brian and Brenda get 10/10 for friendliness and organization and the apartment gets 100/100.

You must consider this property for your stay and I would recommend this property without hesitation. If we visit London again I will make every effort to ensure I stay here again.

Fantastic apartment - spotless, very well equipped, secure, comfortable and stylish. The surrounding arsenal development/district is attractive, pleasantly quiet and the riverside location is lovely.
Excellent access to the city & public transport: 10 minutes easy stroll to the local train station and then just half an hour into central London - can't be beaten, as there are connections every few minutes.
Woolwich has supermarkets, eateries, daily market and chainstore shops - if you stay local. There is also a sophisticated deli virtually on the doorstep!
The owners are genuinely warm and welcoming, very accommodating, both unobtrusive and charming.
Unreservedly recommend this holiday home for anyone visiting London, whether couples, families with any age children or groups of friends.

Wonderful Experience

My husband and I and four of our friends met up for a week holiday in London. The apartment was beautiful and very clean. Everything was provided, sheets, dishes etc. The view was nice, and we really liked the large sitting room. The apartment gave each couple privacy which was nice and it was also very convenient to have a bathroom on the second floor. It was walking distance to the national rail station which was great. It was far enough from the city that it was quiet, but downtown was a short train ride. So excited to have free parking as well. Which is very rare in London. We felt our car was safe within the gated complex. Brian and Brenda were very helpful and were there to answer any questions we had. Brian even stopped over and gave us some advice on how to save time traveling to the airport. Very friendly couple, happy to help in any way they could. If we come back to London, we would love to stay in this apartment again. We would recomend it, and give it 5 stars! :)

Terrific time on the Thames

Terrific place. It was nice being inside a gated community.
The apartment was immaculate and had all things needed
and more. It was nice to open the windows and get a cross breeze. The bus & rail were both just a 6 or 7 minute walk away and zipped you right into town. The
hosts could not possibly have been more personable &
helpful. I have never seen cleaner or more modern bathroom facilities in an apartment. Other than a couple of our own mistakes we found the subway system easy to navigate...and affordable with an oyster card. Having two full bathrooms was a godsend. And I loved the hardwood
floors. We felt both safe and comfortable there. And the
person who came up with the idea to save/convert the
old arsenal buildings deserves some kind of award.
Thanx Steve & Marguerite USA

A home away from home

The Royal Arsenal apt was even better than it appears in the photos. It was very clean, had everything we could think of, and really provided us with a home away from home. By the end of the week we were calling it "our" apt and plan to use it again when we return to London.
Parts of the neighbourhood are being renovated, but the people were friendly, shops and the train station were very handy to get too, and we could find anything we needed within easy walking distance. Brian and Brenda provided lots of info about London and getting around and we found travelling to and from London to be very easy.
We would recommend this apt to anyone visiting London, especially those who enjoy some quiet time at the end of the day.

Owners Response: To all prospective clients planning a trip to London our apartment is fully furnished and equipped to a very high standard.
If you are looking for somewhere to stay that is convenient for travelling to and from the sights of London either by train or riverbus then choose our apartment. As mentioned in the review the apartment is comfortable, homely and is in a tranquil setting which is ideal after a day spent in the hustle and bustle of London.
Brenda and Brian

WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE

KerBearRN Central Valley, California.
Date Submitted: September 27, 2007 Date of Stay: April 2007
We, a bedraggled family of 7 (2 parents and 5 kids ages 2-15), arrived at the Woolwich train station after a long trip back across the Channel and a week in France. We were met by a knight in shining armor, Brian, the landlord. He was wonderful and kind and helpful and his cheerful demeanor like medicine to very tired souls. He and his wife, Brenda, helped us get our things up to the flat, showed us everything we needed, and were even so kind as to make sure we had staples in the fridge (and give my husband and teenagers a lift to and from the local McDonalds!). We loved the flat, it was a lovely mix of old and modern, had everything we needed. The area is great (we were treated to a cannon exhibition and military re-enactment the first morning we were there on the campus of the Arsenal...BOOM!!). Woolwich, is quite ethnic, had a nice street market and great shopping on the high street. And we found a place with decent (and cheap!) pizza. Grocery stores are near enough (although if buying for a large group, make sure to bring reinforcements for carrying on the walk back!!). Easy access to London. Our only wish was easier internet access (although Brenda and Brian incredibly kindly to provided us with a detailed map to the local library for that, as that in the flat was pricey to use)--and just that we could have transplanted the whole thing to central London. But we knew about the distance when we rented, it kept the price more reasonable, and we did have some of our most treasured experiences and meetings on that train ride to and from town. We highly recommend this flat and hope to visit again someday (if they would still have us!!) :) . Thanks so much for everything!
