Champagny en Vanoise
Chalet for wonderful skiing, 3 bedrooms , 1 bathroom ,1 shower room, sleeps 8
Pretty wooden chalet in small hamlet just below the main village of Champagny, four minutes to the cable car by car or a ten minute walk. The chalet has a large terrace with good views of the mountai...

We have just returned from a great holiday in Champagny. We are a family of five with three children aged 9,11 an 13. We spent the week skiing in the La Plagne area which was fantastic. The chalet was just as we had expected, really comfortable and cosy, just what you needed to come back to after a hard day on the slopes. The log burning stove was a real bonus. We cooked almost evey night and the kitchen is very well equipped with every detail thought of. We enjoyed being in the hamlet and found the neighbours friendly. We would highly recommend this property and are already planning to book it for next year.

Chalet was excellent with lots of space for relaxing in our party we had 4 children and 5 adults and never felt cramped. The kitchen was just brilliant equipped with everything you could wish for as eating out can be expensive. The bus to take you up to Champagny was great at the bottom of the road and very punctual. Lovely to be able to leave skis and boots at Intersport. Skiing in Champagny was great, would have liked to have done more in La Plagne but there is so much to do as ski area is so vast. Would not hesitate to recommend this chalet and would love to come back here again. Thanks for a great stay.

Chalet Gentiane sits in an ideal location for those who want to enjoy a friendly and more traditional French alpine village environment but still want the huge expanse of skiing on offer in the Paradiski area. We stayed with 4 adults (all the Dads) and 4 teenagers. The Chalet is warm, well appointed, clean and well equipped and Sarah (the owner) was really helpful in making our stay easy and hassle free. We travelled by ski-train and used 3 Vallees Transfers to get up to Champagny. We didn't have a car and found no need for one either - the local shuttle bus is free and punctual. If you miss it, its only a 10 minute walk up to the village centre and the telecabine. The nightlife in Champagny is not exactly frantic but if you've come to ski thats not really a problem. If you want Butlins in the snow go to La Plagne Centre (but be prepared for some horrible queues)! We loved our time at Chalet Gentiane and if we ski in the 3 valles again, it will be our first choice to try to book.

Chalet Gentiene lived up to all our expectations and more... We have just returned home after the most relaxing Christmas in years. It was a pleasure to live in this cosy home from home. The log fire, Christmas tree, cosy bedrooms and ample supply of dvds meant we were happy, comfortable and entertained from morning to night. We enjoyed a sunny week with perfect snow - could not have been more lucky! Intersport guys were great and loved their system of keeping equipment overnight. We also used the free bus to get into the village - all very easy. The larder was well stocked and we added to it - a relaxed and sensible approach which means you dont need to start from scratch in food shopping for all the sundries like sugar, flour, spices etc etc. Thankyou Sarah for all your care and attention. We were so sad to leave.

The chalet was lovely. Its in a great location just a short walk or one bus stop from centre of town. 5mins to lift and we left our skis in intersport(who were amazing!) The chalet itself had everything we needed and much more. Spacious living room with very large comfortable sofas and wood burning stove was amazing! Great place to come back and relax in after a hard day skiing. Good sized rooms and comfy beds also. Well equipped kitchen with dishwasher (lifesaver. The house has a large TV for vegging out but must say prefered the games selection and pub quiz book. Night life not like the larger resorts but there are a couple of lively bars for apres-ski and then there is the Disco, questionable but entertaining! All in all a great place and great location.

Chalet Gentiane was superb, a real home from home. We felt you'd thought of everything and felt very welcome too. There were all the normal provisions you would expect, plus a whole lot more. It's a really warm and cosy chalet too, we barely had any heating on, just the log fire in the evenings, which was lovely.
We found that the guys at the intersport ski hire shop were great, really helpful and very friendly.
Thanks very much for a very enjoyable stay,
Jodie, Bob, Kath, Simon and Nick

Dear Mark and Sarah,
We had a really lovely Christmas in your charming chalet. I'm so glad we stayed in Champagny, as it was so pretty, traditional and friendly. We were extremely lucky with the snow but most of all it was your chalet and all your help which made the greatest contribution to our all enjoying an unforgettable Christmas.
Thanks again.
Best wishes,
Susan, Graham, Paul and Laura.

Our traditional New Year skiing break was made even more special this year by our choosing Chalet Gentaine as our base. This chalet is without doubt the best equiped we have experienced. The downstairs living area is particularly spacious and comfortable and the log burner is a big bonus. We prepared many meals during our visit and always found every utensil that we required along with a great selection of crockery, glasses, pots and pans. Although our party was smaller the chalet could accommodate 10 people with ease. We'll be back
