We have just returned from a weeks stay at Rove.
The accommodation is excellent and has been renovated to a very high standard, the best we have stayed in, in France. It was very clean and had everything you needed.
Mike and Tania were very helpful, nothing was too much trouble.
Our son was never out of the swimming pool. He enjoyed the table tennis, swings and the animals, especially the rabbits.
It was a very relaxing place to stay. The stars at night were amazing.

I have just returned from a week's stay at La Chevrerie with my children and was really pleased that I decided to book the Poitevine gite.
From the moment we arrived we were made to feel incredibly welcome by both Mike and Tania, along with their son, Keenan. The gite was well equipped with personal touches that made it feel really homely. The standard of accommodation is superb and the fact that Mike and Tania have designed and built everything themselves makes it all the more special - they really should be proud of their efforts.
My children are aged 9 and 11 and there was plenty of activities on offer for them... the good sized swimming pool (heated!), table tennis, bikes, and my daughter loved looking after the animals, especially the baby rabbits!
The local area has many attractions, including some great markets, historical sites, along with some stunning countryside which we enjoyed cycling around - Mike and Tania were more than happy to loan us their bikes.
We really loved our stay and were sad to leave... my daughter in particular as she wanted to take a couple of rabbits with her! I would definitely rebook La Chevrerie if I am to visit this part of France again... which no doubt I will..!
A big thank you to Mike, Tania and Keenan for their wonderful hospitality.

From the outset, communication with Mike and Tania was great and very informative.
On arrival we were made to feel very welcome and the pictures certainly show the beautiful characteristics of the Gites.
We stayed in Rove which was very clean with all the facilities needed.
Having to children aged 10 and 7 there was plenty to keep them entertained they loved feeding the ducks, geese and chickens and were
thrilled when they we allowed in the pens the help put the animals to bed.
The swimming pool area was very clean and secure, with an alarm for safety.
The surrounding area had stunning scenery and the short drive to the nearby town of Melle was perfect for a stroll around the local shops and the supermarkets.

We spent a thoroughly enjoyable time at Rove cottage. No need to leave the complex if you don't want to there is everything for a quiet relaxing holiday. Great for children they can have a wonderful time in the pool, which is completely safe and fully alarmed. There are also ducklings and chicks to fee
The cottages are extremely comfortable, well equipped and spotlessly clean and the welcome packs the best we have ever had on any holiday.
The surrounding countryside is fairly flat which makes it ideal for walking and cycling(there are bikes you can use at the cottages) Mike and Tania found nothing to much trouble and were very hospitable hosts.
Well worth a further visit.

My wife, teenage daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Rove. The accomodation has been restored to a high standard and is very comfortable. The grounds provide plenty of space for sitting, children playing, etc. and the swimming pool is well maintained. We enjoyed the local countryside, visiting markets and archeological sites. The owners live on site and were very friendly and welcoming; they provided plent y of information about the gite and its surroundings, how the buildings had been converted and their future plans. At the end of our stay we sat out in the grounds with the other guests watching a meteorite shower in the clear night sky, well away from city lights. A very tranquil rural retreat for a relaxed holiday.

We had a wonderful holiday at La Chèvrerie. The kids enjoyed the swimming pool, the table tennis and visiting the ducks and chickens; Mum and dad enjoyed the peaceful countryside and relaxing in the lovely gardens. The Gites have been completed to a very high standard, reflecting the hard work that Mike, Tania and family have invested. We look forward to visiting again in the future. Thank you!

Great gite, with very good facilities. Made to feel really welcome. fresh bread and croissant delivered every morning. Gite extremely well equipped and comfortable. Property was spotless and well maintained. Definitely recommend this property. Children really safe in the garden/swing area. had our bikes with us. Some good flat routes suitable for children (4 and 9). Good day trips to Ile de Re and Monkey valley. Don't usually like this sort of thing, but it was really well done. Gorillas were amazing.

If you are looking for somewhere to relax then Mike and Tania's is the place. On arrival the property is immaculate and a real home from home. The hosts Mike and Tania are very accommadating and nothing is too much to ask. We have been for the last two years and are going again this summer!
I would particularly recommend this holiday to families who like be away from it all and see the real rural France.
Our young chidren loved to spend time feeding the chicks and ducklings and playing in the play area and the space in and around the cottages.
The pool is great and very safe, again ideal for a young family. With the great weather we didn't need to explore much further than that!
Nearby the town of Melle is fun to explore, eat out and catch a cafe au lait. The surrounding country side is flat so is ideal for walking and cycling with a family. Many of the local towns have markets which we enjoyed exploring. A fun day out is boating in the nearby Vinne Verte.
The ordering service from the local baker made our mornings. If you're looking for a holiday to get away from it all and see real France then Mike and Tania's is for you!
