Fantastic Apartment! Great holiday!

My party of 5 arrived in Meribel self drive on the Saturday morning and found the property easily with the fantastic joining instructions that Vari had sent us. We were able to use the ski and luggage lockers to store everything before the accommodation was ready which was great.

The apartment was clean and cosy with an amazing view. We were able to make ourselves at home easily before heading into town which is very near by. This is great news for getting to the slopes in the morning and getting home from apres in the evening!

Overall a fantastic place and we would all happily stay again!

An excellent apartment

The apartment is an excellent little find. A short walk down the hill gets you to the centre. Maybe 2 minutes in day-to-day shoes; about 5 minutes in boots with skis and poles. From there you can ski down to the Chaudanne to get the gondolas to whisk you away. The local Spar is even closer, which is great for the self-caterers.

The apartment is well-equipped with plenty of kitchen stuff: pots, pans, plates, mugs and glasses. Enough to have half of it sitting in the dishwasher, which was a bonus in itself.

The bedrooms are also fine, with plenty of space for moving around and for clothes. Besides, there are enough cupboards throughout to accommodate even a very heavy packer.

The bathrooms are great too. Notably, both showers had excellent water pressure.

The communal area is spacious enough, with a good table and a good selection of board games. The sofa is exceedingly comfortable, and there would have been a great view, but for the huge amount of snow on the balcony!

Vari is very informative and helpful, and makes the process very easy. On the whole, a highly recommendable apartment!

I would highly recommend this apartment for small families or groups. We found the apartment in excellent condition and the owners were really receptive to enquiries and questions.
The skiing was brilliant in Meribel but we would recommend three valley passes as there is so much more to see..... The transport back to Meribel is regular and we loved the freebus services up and down the mountains.
A great week overall and an ideal location!

This apartment is ideally located in the lovely village of Meribel. Less than a five minute walk from the nearest supermarket, ski hire shop and bar. Less than ten minutes to get to the ski slope next to the post office which takes you down to the main Chaudanne lifts.
The apartment is pretty and homely and has terrific views of the mountains. It easily accommodated three adults and three children.
I would highly recommend this accommodation.

This was our first time to Meribel. The apartment is well equipped and in a fantastic location. We only had four staying, which meant no one had to sleep in the lounge. The two bathrooms made life easier in the morning. Everything you need is within a short walk, so no need for a car or buses. The owners were very helpful and accommodating when booking and prior to departure. Food and drink is expensive (as with most top French resorts) so self catering is nice way to keep the cost down a bit. We timed it just right for something called the Altitude Festival and if like me you've never heard of it, it's a week of top stand up comedy and entertainment and i mean top stand up. We were fortunate enough to see Al Murray and Rufus Hound in the town's small auditorium. What better way to top the day off !!

Owners Response: Thank you to our guests for making mention of the Altitude Festival! It's great to see Meribel making entertainment like this into an annual event - its normally held towards the end of March each year. This festival is one of the highlights of the season but the resort offers a number of different entertainments for both children and adults every week, both in the summer and the winter seasons.

We are delighted that our guests' first visit to Meribel was such a success and hope to welcome them back again sometime in the future!

We loved it! There were 6 of us staying in this cozy apartment. It was a great location, walking distance to the lifts and town center. It was clean and made a nice home base to our daily ski outings. We hit the weather just right arriving to fresh powder and sunshine for the first 4 days. Our last day was white out with more new snow but too good to stay away. We'd love to make this an annual trip. Amazing terrain and a fantastic mountain. Thanks Vari for making our accommodation booking such a breeze.

Very helpful owners who answered our many questions with accurate information. Spacious with 2 bathrooms that is a real plus. Comfortable, clean and in excellent condition even at the end of season. Lots of extras such as books and games that made it home from home. Great south facing balcony that was a suntrap. Excellent location with short walk to slopes, centre and supermarket.

Very helpful owners who gave accurate information. Spacious with 2 bathrooms that is a real bonus. Comfortable, clean and in excellent condition even at the end of season. Lots of extras like books and games that make it home from home. Great south facing balcony that is a suntrap. Excellent location in Meribel short walk to supermarket, centre and slopes. If you are too tired to walk uphill in ski boots at end of day you can catch the bus and then short walk downhill back to appartment.

Great Holiday apartment

Date Submitted: March 24, 2009 Date of Stay: March 2009
The apartment had a great location in the center of meribel, but far enough from the tavern and the pub, they can be pretty noisy in the night. The south facing terras was great after a day on the slopes. Everything was in good condition when we arrived.

Recommended for: Families with Teenagers

Owners Response: Renting through the Holiday Rentals website over the years has brought us guests from all round the world. We enjoy this contact very much - and renting the apartment is so much more worthwhile when we hear how much people have enjoyed themselves!

For the second time we have been in this apartment. We love beiing here, because of the large amount of slopes. The view is magnificent.
the apartment is situated in the centre of Meribel, from where you can easily have acces to the slopes. The shops are also nearby. It's a warm apartment with two bathrooms. That's very useful when the entire family has to shower. The showers are very warm, even when two people are showering at the same time.
We hope to come back here many times.

This apartment is very well designed, it has everything you could need and anything you don't have is just a few minutes walk! The view from the windows is a lovely thing to wake up to in the morning and to look at all day. It is very close to everything in Meribel, including the slopes! We had a really good time in this apartment and was perfect for our family! The apartment its self is cosy, clean, pretty, well maintained, well designed and comfortable. I would recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in Meribel!

Perfect Location, views are incredible...just a short walk from the resort centre and the main lifts. The apartment is very cosy, clean and affordable. The facilities are excellent, especially the cooking facilities and suit those on a budget or who cant afford to spent 150 euros on dinner each night. Would recommend to friends and would re-book in the future.

stayed here with my wife, parents and our 7 month old baby, it was more than what we expected, lovely interior and great location, the view through the patio door is just amazing. all the bits and bobs which you need for a self catering holiday are supplied, plenty of storage and also the apartment car parking area for guests is a bonus as meribel can be busy and hard to park in the town. would love to be there again .x

This is a perfect apartment for families with young or teenage children. It is well laid out, characterful, convenient and very well equipped. There is a wonderful view from the balcony and it is close to the main shopping and entertainment areas of Meribel. We would certainly book another skiing holiday in this apartment.

This little gem of an apartment gave us everything we needed to allow us to enjoy the best that Meribel has to offer. The location is quiet but only five minutes walk from the slopes and all the down town action. The apartment is very well cut up so that the bedrooms are at opposite ends of the apartment which makes sharing easy. We have now been back many times and have enjoyed the skiing so much that we have also been back to enjoy hillwalks in the alpine meadows in the summer.... perfect!

Comments from Owner Guestbook

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the use of the apartment. We had a truly wonderful time, and the apartment was perfect. I can see myself contacting you again this winter coming! Feb 2007

Just to let you know that we had a brilliant week in the apartment. Plenty of snow at the start and blue skies every day. I had a very sad little girl at home yesterday who just wanted to go back to her 'holiday house' so it must have hit the spot. Many thanks in getting it all sorted for us. The location was superb and the actual accommodation some of the best we have had. February 2007

Just a quick email to say that enjoyed a wonderful & comfortable time in Meribel in your Plan du Moulin apartment. Its a great apartment, in a great village and the 50cm of snow on the Tuesday made the conditions great too! Jan 2007
